Greatests in each division doesn't seem very debatable to me.

The issues I have with title Defenses being used in the Liddel VS Rampage argument is, Rampge beat Liddel prior to his title run, than KO'd him to end said title run. Not sure how it holds much wait. Denis Hallman didn't do enough outside of those two wins to be considered greater than Hughes as far as your analogy goes
All that really matters is who is the best in each weight class today ...in 2021.
Most of these guys listed were the best. But comparing eras is automatically unfair.
Matt Hughes is a great example. Amazing accomplishments ... would be lucky to make top 15 today.
Its as silly as P4P. Make believe.
But that rationale is inherently flawed. The guys who competed in earlier eras would have more well rounded skillsets if competing today, since that's now the status quo.
Speed, athleticism, KO power, fight IQ. That's what is timeless
Its like saying Pele or Maradona wouldn't be elite footballers by todays standards.
Which means you can't compare them since you don't know for sure since they aren't in their prime today with todays training. All you have is hypoheticals.
Hypothetically ... Adesayna was suppose to beat Jan accoring to the betting odds right?
Adeysana lost though. Thats why they fight.
Who u THINK would win doesnt matter.
Who actually wins does.
Also the leaps in MMA skills last 10-15 years is much bigger than any leap in skill in Soccor/football since the later is far more established. Not a good comparison. MMA is still in its infancy stage as a sport.
