Bellator's circular cage is the best platform imo.

You know, I don't think I have seen enough of their fights. Does the circular cage cut down on leaning on people on the cage as a means of point fighting? Like Couture vs Vera.

But Schlit was a bad ass in a combat sport, he's a much better comparison except he was one of the best in his sport when he tried MMA.

I know that people have probably thought of this before, but why doesn't the ufc implement the kind of gloves that taekwondoe uses? It would sure prevent eye pokes, while still letting fighters grapple with ease (I would assume that adjustments would be made, like freeing up the thumb etc.)

they are just to cute together, lol

wow I never really took much notice of the Pride gloves, I cant see how grapplers would lose much to this style of glove, I think they are more leaning towards gloves that hold your hand in a fist wit just enough tension to close your fist when relaxed

These is a Pride FC glove, almost identical to the UFC glove

True but it seemed they at least tried to give them good style match ups though not necessarily with a guy of equal skill.

Fedor vs Schlit and Nog vs Sapp for example, neither guy is a top level guy like Fedor or Nog but they were a dangerous match up at least.

Freak show fights can be great and/or competitive with the right match ups.

I actually enjoy freak fights. Just pisses me of when certain types on here call the UFC watered down/WWE etc. when PRIDE made a point to have goofy ass (yet fun) fights. PRIDE was not perfect as some would loudly argue.... Nor is the UFC as others would argue.

I would rather they just start deducting points for eyepokes and fence grabs on the first offense. Fighters will train not to do those two things if they take a hard line.

And for both offenses I would say over 80% of the time they are intentional, plenty of guys out there I believe are dirty take their free shot knowing no points will be deducted or a few grab fence grabs to stay up.
