Granted, most here never have fought so this might seem off, but in his typically unbiased way, DJ beaks it down for y'all real quick.

"It's MMA. If somebody's coming to me, I go like [holds hands out with fingers extended] this. It's my hands coming out. It's a natural reaction.

It's a natural reaction.

That's one thing people don't understand. Like when you do Mu Thai, when you kick, you need your hands out. Even in gloves, when I throw a kick, my hands are open inside the gloves. You know, I love how people are like, "Ooohhhh, there's so many eye pokes in MMA.” Guys, my fuckin hands are open."

He then comments (like many) how it was the other eye that got it worse, lol.

No! Gane is a dirty filthy cheat sent by Jon Jones to derail Asspedal the greatest HW fighter of all time!! <WhitmanDefeat>

I have fought and I do not care if it is "natural." It is actually a violation of the rules to even do it. The rules clearly state as a foul "Fingers outstretched toward an opponent’s face/eyes." Therefore, train to not to do it. Period.

Mighty Mouse claims Gane did nothing wrong, he was executing correct and perfect technique when the eye poke happened and stated it was "obviously accidental"

He also gives props for how amazing Gane was doing and stuffing Tom's takedowns and speculates Gane was taking over as Aspinall faces adversity.

This is definitely a thing. I have my hands outstretched pretty consistently when sparring MT or in fights. It’s kinda just how it goes especially for longer fighters. It’s a way of setting up strikes and setting up distance and timing.

It's also a natural reaction to close your eyes and look away when somebody is trying to hit you, fighters train those habits away.
If there were any consequences to eyepoking your opponent they would also learn not to stick their fingers in their opponent face.

Since Gane is in the movie business as his side (or main) hustle, him and DJ should do a remake of Twins.

When did MM get so stupid.
He's saying that a correct technique in a different spot is somehow still correct when it is blatantly illegal in mma. Here's a thought if you come over from MT adapt your training so outstretched fingers isn't your natural reaction. Miller is right MM, Gane and others are the fucking problem.

Id say the UFC is the problem.

They have failed to act on the eye poke problem for years.

Losing fans through cancelled events may just make them consider doing something about it.

Boy there are some stupid people in this world, who forget the eye injuries they have had in their lives and how painful it can be for hours after. And they expect a guy to continue
a fight like that. These armchair warrior losers, have no right making comments on MMA fighting or any sport for that matter.
It was Accidental eye poke by Gane, but it was an illegal action (few seem to get that) But it was also severe enough to warrant postponing the fight.
The only real way justice can be done regarding all the hate Tom (who was the victim of the illegal move) has received, is for him to come back and wipe Cyril out in the first or second round.

"It's my hands coming out. It's a natural reaction."

Also biting is a natural reaction, 5 feet fighter!

"Like when you do Mu Thai, when you kick, you need your hands out."

Yes, but you don't put them in your opponent's eyes, 5 feet fighter!

" Even in gloves, when I throw a kick, my hands are open inside the gloves."

When you throw a kick, you don't stick your fingers in your opponent's eyes, 5 feet fighter!

” Guys, my fuckin hands are open."

That's the problem, it shouldn't be, 5 feet mid... fighter!

-----------------

Fore reference, I don't consider DJ as FLW GOAT anymore, because he is 5 feet. Pantoja is the new GOAT because he is 5'1

Meanwhile Jim Miller says this is all BS. I guess everyone can have his take and then there are the rules.

For women, a natural reaction is to pull each other's hair when fighting, we don't see much of that.
