Glover vs. Gus: In your opinion, whos the better fighter?

These guys are close in the rankings and they are both pretty good, complete mma fighters. I think id pick Gus but not by much... What u guys think?
 
I think Glover is more well rounded but gus would prob beat him. Either guy could win that fight tho.
 
I don't know it's a good match up.
 
Gustafsson is the better, more technical striker. Teixeira is absolutely the better grappler. Speed and footwork goes to Gustafsson, power to Teixeira. Would be a classic match-up.
 
Glover. Gus has 1 ranked win ever and that was against washed up Shogun. Gus looked good in defeat to Jones and DC but he lost. Glover has a better resume.
 
Gus.

Gus is the fighter that show that you don't need to beat everyone to be great. The way he is a complete as a fighter already gives him plenty saying that he is going to be champ, even though he didn't had many great wins.

Just wanted to say that because most doesn't know what is the difference of someone being a better fighter to a great.

Actually the best one is that the best WW fighter after GSP, wouldn't be a top 5 in current WW, and maybe not even 10. Well, I'm not even sure how GSP at his best would do, I say Hendricks and Thompson still gives him problems.

Winning matter and makes someone a great. Not better than current fighters.

Fighters that are considered great wouldn't do as well if they fought now.
 
I've wanted this fight for years now, and I bet we'll get it soon. Gus is getting a lower level opponent for his comeback fight while Glover is lined up in one of the biggest fights of his life, but depending on how each of those fights turn out they could very well be facing each other next or very soon.

Gus has the speed, accuracy and footwork, Glover has the power and boxing defense. Gus has exceptional TDD but Glover has a brutal top game if he could manage taking the fight to the ground. Both have great cardio. This would be about as close of a pick em fight that you can get in MMA.
 
I would go with Glover, much more well rounded, has beaten fighters in the top 10. Glover is best LHW in UFC behind Jones and Cormier.. in my opinion, he is super talented and skilled, can beat all the rest I think.

Gus never had a resume of the greats like Fedor, Jones, Silva, GSP or even Henderson.

His latest ranked win is a decision against a worn out shogun whom even Sonnen put away in the first. 4 years ago.

You're just saying what I just said.

Winning fights when who knows when doesn't make someone better than fighters that fight now. Anderson woudn't dominate MW, I say he wouldn't even be champ. GSP wouldn't be as dominant as he was, there are a lot of fighters who can beat him or be competitive now. No one beats Jones or Cormier. RDA and Khabib are the best LW fighters and it's hard to say who can beat them, besides Ferguson out of everyone back then and now.

A great is still one of the best because of what he did, but it's a sure thing that there are a lot of better fighters now.

I don't think this thread asked who has the better resume.

I think it's hard to argue glover has looked more impressive in the octagon and would be favorite against Gus.

It's close. Again people who try to judge Gus solely on him losing his biggest fights when his 3 prime losses were against the 3 top guys. It's not like glover has wins over any of those guys.
 
Very interesting fight. Gus has the movement and Glover has the power. If Glover can't get him out of there it will be a tough fight especially if it's set for 5 rounds, which i'd hope it would be. I think I'd favor Gustafson. A win like that would be good for re-establishing himself at the top.
 
I think Glover is more well rounded but in a fight against eachother Gus could pick him apart but I could see him getting KOd too
 
Glover. Better ground game. More powerful on feet. Gustafsson has length that would be tough to get past but I think Glover would get in the box and land some big shots to knock Gus down. Once he goes down RIP.
 
I think Gus is the better fighter. No idea why they are still giving him easy matchups at this point.
