Sure, in perfect conditions. Like if the lawsuit UFC dealt with recently would've went worse and there was a solid competitor operating at that time that could swoop in and pick up the pieces. Not unreasonable to think that there will be more major lawsuits coming UFC in the future so there will probably be opportunities.

But open shop and do what? Also pay minimum wages and try to build?

They just can’t be too generous with their payouts, they need to be honest with what the fighters are worth. Not giving out hundreds of thousands to millions.

Easier said than done.

damn, as a longtime fan, i have to say, that we are seeing in real time why mike goldberg did not stay. if you let him off track, he gets seriously off track with the most stupidest things i've ever heard. he needs to be relegated to live commentary only, and even then, strict commercial reads and some minor commentary. all in all, i'm enjoying the event, this will eventually fade like all others, but sometimes, these obscure events produce some great memories, and that's all we can really ask for. there's great name value, and it's always good to have more MMA. a 2025 bodog/elitexc/wamma is exactly what we need right now.

GFL would be a nice success for me if this format means that we get to see a bunch of sparring footage with fighters linking up. Like Gus and Mousasi since they're on the same team.
