Gladiator vs. Braveheart

Which is the superior movie?

Gladiator built off the template that BraveHeart created. It's more polished but it also takes many scenes from it. Wallace has a much better pre-battle speech (and the dialogue and theme is more thoughtful in general, imo).

They're both great in different ways and I'm glad and amazed they actually ended up having a different feel and atmosphere.

Last time a BraveHeart VS Gladiator thread happened, I chose BraveHeart but this time, after re-re-re watching Gladiator, I decided not to vote. They're both awesome

It’s just a ridiculous statement is all. It makes me worry for you

Why?

7/10 means I thought they were pretty good.

It makes me worry for you if you think they're ATG films, tbh. You're missing out.

I feel like Gladiator has aged extremely well. I watched it the other day and couldn’t believe how awesome everything still looked. Awesome movie and some great acting by Crowe and Phoenix.

Both are great but I remember renting Braveheart on 2 VHS tapes and watching it with my dad and brothers so I pick Braveheart. For me you could argue for either movie.

For swords movies (non fantasy) these 2 movies are the Creme De La Creme

Gladiator from what I remember. Seen it several times, watched Braveheart once

Tough choice, but i cant think of a better movie than Braveheart.

Alright we get it. You’re too cool for school

Fell asleep watching Gladiator the second time, I've watched Braveheart probably 5 times, it was brilliant.

I can’t handle Robert the Bruce betraying Wallace . Pisses me off more than opam from saving private Ryan.

They are both great. With tons and tons of replay value.

Brave Heart is more accessible, a bit more melodramatic and relies on the soundtrack a bit more in the same way Back to the Future does. There's a few scenes in Braveheart that are the best at what they do but Gladiator feels a bit more grown up. Galdiator for artsyness and Braveheart for when things are personal.

“We”, LOL, you’re the only one who is getting upset.

You’re playing the game wrong, snowflake.

Braveheart was filmed in Ireland, so I have to go for that.

One of the locations was Trim castle in county Meath.
