I hate seeing guys who fight at a higher weight class fight guys who fight/fought at a lower weight class.

Khamzat fights at 185 and Burns fought at 155. Even if Khamzat wins it will be too easy to attribute it to natural size advantage.

Funny how people thought Magny would be such a good match for Khamzat. He'll squash Burns and that better earn him a shot. If he has to wait for Colby after I'll be pissed it won't be until 2023 for that title shot.

Good post but I do think Colby is the better benchmark here for him. Just because I think we can all imagine burns getting ragdolled or knocked out. With Colby, we’ve seen him against usman 2x. A dominant win against him I think shows a different level. Burns is a tough test of course and could win, but I think there are scenarios where khamzat wins easily and we still have questions because of the style matchup.

(I do get that Colby doesn’t present the ground threat that burns does and thus will still have questions, although I don’t think usman is a huge sub threat).

I'm interested how Khamzat handles Burns when it goes to the ground. Will he back away from the Jits? I think against Colby Khamzat has the size and also he is the better wrestler. Either one and i'm happy. Let's get him in the octagon already.
