Yes they would. Honestly, this is a stupid point I hear brought up a lot. Every fight is a risk. Taking an unnecessary risk that basically gives little to no benefit is an easy choice. Fighters not wanting to fight someone they really shouldn't be fighting is not any kind of evidence that they're not sure of themselves.
I'm part of that crowd. It's not cuz I want Khamzat to fail. It's cuz I want to see him beat people who are good. It's the same standard I hold of all fighters. No matter how good someone looks, they still have to show that consistency across levels and time, which earns them the right.
I want to see hype tested and proven, not accelerated based on theory.
