News GFL Miami vs Sao Paulo- Romero vs Rua

Hard disagree, idk what you are talking about. Even in their primes Luke nearly murdered teh Chris... and, well, have you seen each of their last fights??
Don't get me wrong I think that Luke wins, but he always was better than Chris in every facet of MMA. He has better grapplers, striking and clinch work than Chris and always did.

Atleast they are both from the same era, both had similar lack of success in MMA since they fought. Look at the people Chris has fought since 2016. Rockhold himself is 1-4 with his lone win over David branch. If Rockhold had fought The Chris's schedule they would have the same record.

Both have faired poorly since they fought. Luke was always better, but atleast these two have sort of been fighting and losing at the same level this entire time.

I don't think Rockhold beating Jacare again would have been a crazy result years back tbh, nor do I think Luke would've fumbled a fight with Tavares.

Chris slid further than Luke ever did in part due to him never having outstanding skills outside of his wrestling and BJJ, once his chin and speed started to go he just became a sitting duck. His poor cardio only added to that, if Luke had fought more often, and against lesser competition, I think he'd have been in a decent spot honestly.

Well.. Shogun has looked geriatric while Romero almost kills a guy in some underground boxing promotion. Crazy to think Yoel is 4 and a half years older.
Romero via KO.

Luke beats Weidman IMO.. Chris has looked awful lately.

Hall vs Lima could be fun or very very boring.

Chris slid further because he was regularly fighting and we saw it. He stayed fighting top 15 guys until very recently.

I disagree on both those fights. Both have the ability to find that chin on Rockhold. He has become a literal glass cannon these days. He can't even put a grappling camp together anymore. Luke is going into fights and giving up if it becomes hard. Weidman physically isn't there but he will still atleast fight. My guess they both enjoy some time away from USADA and come in looking ok.

I literally have no idea WTF you are talking about here... can you give some examples?

We can still have:
- JDS vs Capelloza
- Douglas Lima vs Yoel Romero
- Pettis vs Patricky Pitbull
- Cara de Sapato vs Phillipe Lins
- Shelton vs Assuncao
- Zingano vs Lara
- PVZ vs Pereira
- Tibau vs Brazilian Cowboy
- Rosa vs Arce
- Mara vs Hracho
I think more than half of these fighters are managed by First Round Management

I just saw this on X.

I thought that Shogun retired?

wtf?!?!?

He was retired buttttt they probably called him up and asked if he wanted to fight Yoel Romero for 250k or more and he was like "certo". I dont know what fighters do post retirement, Shogun is a guy who if he was smart with his money maybe could have lived off it very comfortably for the rest of his life as the US dollar goes very far in Brazil, middle class in Brazil is like 4000 a month income in Reais, which is is like 600 USD. Shoguns net worth is probably 5million or more.

Guys like LeBanner and Mousasi are randomly very rich as they just kept investing in real estate their entire careers, I know Mousasi owns a couple apartment complexes at this point. But then Chuck, who made shit tons of money and was in a bunch of cameos and commercials has to be scraping by dudes been partying for like 30 years straight.

I actually am excited about the future of the GFL now. I think they are just stacking the roster with big name old school fighters so that they can build new younger stars off their name when they get wins over them. The revenue sharing aspect is really interesting.
