News GFL cities, managers and coaches before the draft

Usually the simplest answers are the most likely to be true. Either somone in charge of organizing "sent contracts" and "signed contracts" made an error when providing info to the graphics team, or guys were signed to the draft but then got assured opportunities elsewhere. Maybe a bit of both.

With how many names suddenly flooded in, I'm not really surprised.

According to my source, Schaffel signed but then signed with another org. According to the GFL contract they're allowed to do that... so it's weird he didn't just say "Hey, I was signed but got an assured contract, so I'm no longer available doe the draft."

I talked to Misyala's manager as well, and he served time already so afaik isn't under any restriction to be signed for a draft. Given who is on the list in his class I doubt he was ever considered.View attachment 1080223

Scheffel has been in KSW for a while. I think they messed that one up but when they're trying to deal with like 400 fighters I get mistakes being made.

PM signing just makes me think this could be a shit show in terms of visas because that guy is not fighting in the US.

They announced everyone they made an offer to as signed even though some of them never signed anything officially. That was not ideal as a lot of them called them out publicly on it which is not a good look.

Unless I missed a bunch, it seems like it was a handful, and that sounds more like someone was fudging for commission or clout to keep a job. But without all the info and without GFL making an official statement it's not a great look for sure.

This is just giving me a headache. Hopefully something official will announced soon.

6 teams
10 weight classes
2 fighters per weight class
So, 20 fighters per team and 120 overall
I guess the fighters will have 2-3 fights from April to November

The platforms this draft will be simulcast on are Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, Twitch, DAZN, PPV.com, Triller TV, and Rumble. Mike Goldberg and Brendan Schaub are apparently hosting, with a little Robin Black for thoughts and opinions.

Combat sport are indiviualistic sport, individual, the team, trainers/coaches always stay in the shadows.

What for future new signed athletes that have already a team of their own, it may not be good for them to join or to be affiliated with one of these team.

Promoting what ? Team success ? That team won, that team lost. You're going to be forced to have some sparring partners, even if they don't match your next opponent, are you going to be penalize if your partner lose ?

Ridiculous. Flawed. Stupid. Maybe yes, maybe not. Cannot judge early on. I just hope GFL become an alternative and a rival to the evil UFC monopoly. They seems to have tons of money, they are overpaying athletes that are retired or washed up but will draw lesser crowd than the money invested for sure.

USA territory is now more and more competitive, UFC - PFL - GFL, One ambition to conquer the US market will only be a memorial of the past.

Why TF is Sage Northcutt on the poster but not on the roster? <lol>
