German cuisine is underrated!

Haha I would but my SunnyVale is a state of mind. I am physically in Montana at this moment in time. This week though I will be attempting to cook Sarma. It is a Croatian dish.
Bet the COVID threat is less there, can I come stay with you there and you make me nice German food instead?

Sure. But its a tad bit colder out this way. Currently snowing. Also I work in a hospital with Covid patients so if you wanna up your chances of catching it as the first Shergal and go down in the history books then swing on up Fingercuffs!

My wife is german, and her grandparents did legit german dinners. Was awesome, and I nenve missed an invite to sunday dinner.

One of the worst. If you go to Germany it"s Turkish cuisine now, and they cook pasta at home in microwave. Overall I love all the sausges, and schnitzel, and the pies, etc. But I have them all.

Don't forget the Strudel for dessert (Austrian but German adopted).

Czech. Most will claim Vienna as the origin but the Austrian empire reached into the Czech republic. There is also a not so small chance that it came from the middle east.

Damn, you all made me really hungry.
Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) is one of my favorites!

Schweinshaxe is the best damn meat dish ever. Puts southern ham hocks and greens (which are still great) to shame. But you gotta have it with Kloesse and sauerkraut soaking in the gravy. I'd take that over a medium rare porterhouse from Peter Luger.

I am pleased to know that others appreciate German food and that I am not alone. Some folks think its soup and sausage with a piece of bread. I don't know why though but I kind of had that image in my mind until 6 years ago.

yeah, i think with something not normally acclaimed for, it's one of those things you have to try to believe. so for those who haven't gone to a proper german restaurant, i recommend you try it out!

German food is terrible and so was the Holocaust. IMO.

I highly doubt it given how piss poor the Desserts over there are (France,Germany,Italy pretty much own Desserts).
