I like the fight.
He is always training because he is living in the GYM and i hope he will do well against GeraldPlease think for a couple more minutes before you post. You opened with saying that you think Khamzat is very good. What does that mean then? That he's very good but not good enough to beat Gerald Meerschaert? If that's the case - Khamzat was never any good, because Gerald is NOT good. The MMA casuals are too deep in with the narrative that fighters develop grately between fights. That's NOT the case. Khamzat will not be a much better fighter in. let's say, 6 months. In other words that means that if he would fight another fighter, possibly lower ranked than Gerald, and win, it would not mean that his chances of beating Gerald in 6 months would be greater.
This sport is nothing like team sports where 18 year old players are getting thrown into the mix. Khamzat is soon 27 years of age and has trained for a long time. This is not too soon. Gerald is a lower tier talented fighter and that's it.
I like it too and it is a difficult test for Khamzat and lets see how he will deal with GeraldI like the fight.
Pulling this one out of your ass. He wasn't breathing extremely hard, and he didn't really have any trouble speaking. The guy could barely breathe post fight after a 1 round fight that he dominated
Then they cry about how old division is with same old guysThey are not trying to end Chimaev, they are giving him legit competition. And What's with these kneejerks rooting for a prospect to fail?
So Khamzat is very good, I like the guy. I think UFC is making a mistake here.
Gerald is extremely tough fight. Khamzat might win, but Gerald has a really good chance at ending the hype train.
Not the fight I would have made, but I guess UFC gonna UFC. But I think this is a mistake on their part.

I think Meerschaert can win this, but it's an appropriate step up in competition for Khamzat. There's stupid hype on him based on 2 wins over nobodies, so let's actually see what he can do against an experienced journeyman that is used to taking guys into deep waters. If Khamzat does win this, and they do in fact match him up against Maia next, I don't think that will end well for him.
Why dont you love him?The guy beats two cans in short notice fights within weeks, rips of Khabib's schtick, and now the shertards start a hype train.
The guy could barely breathe post fight after a 1 round fight that he dominated. He has way too much output with GNP for his size.
Sure. Thats why Conor earned a title shot by beating Denis Siver. If there’s one thing Dana deserves credit for is he doesn’t protect fighters. .
He's worse than TheodorouIs it fair to say Gerald is Elias Theodorou level or is that just the biggest insult ever to a fighter?
Khazmat was the Swedish champion, wasn't he?Win a super high level wrestler. Winn would probably outwrestle Khamzat in MMA, and most surely in freestyle without a single out.
I love watching him fight but this hype train is unwarranted. Now we have the guy talking shit to the top of the division like he's a win away from a title shot. Why dont you love him?
Yes.I love watching him fight but this hype train is unwarranted. Now we have the guy talking shit to the top of the division like he's a win away from a title shot.
so if Khamzat wins... why is that a mistake?Even if Khamzat wins this, I think this is a mistake on their part. I think they are severely under-rating Gerald, and overhyping Khamzat.
I would NoT have made this fight for Khamzat, this is so fucking stupid.
