In North America its GSP.
Over seas it's Fedor.

Fedor had it all. He was terminator but also average guy with icecream. He was unbeatable but had those "almost" moments as well. He could win from any position. He was calm. He was wild. He was emperor but he was also poor guy from stary oskol. He smiled at you but also had his psycho stare.

Timing is also important. In the 90's it was more about style vs style. Fedor was complete mma fighter. Someone like Royce is iconic ufc fighter but I dont think he was mma fighter...more like bjj fighter who had will to test his art.

Then tuf happened. We had "tuf noobs". Mma got more attention. Now its all there with youtube and social media. Back in the days you had to have will to find something like mma (shooto/nhb etc). It was like mystery. It was esoteric experience. And when you did learn about this tough sport you noticed that this one man fought like he was blessed or possessed.

Even greater is Fedor's sweater

Oh god, not the FedorFanBoyz
<6>

<{ByeHomer}>

No, we should remember what gems O'Malley and Conor have been right?

Nah, Fedor is the man and it's hating anyone by saying so.

He didn't clown it up for the cameras, he didn't disrespect his opponents, and he was as skilled as anyone has been.

Not really much to hate sir.

That was true poetry sir, absolutely true and beautiful.

Bearded Fedor would be champ today and anyone who doesn t believe that probably also doesnt believe Fedor would have united the slavic tribes and sacked Rome 2000 yrs ago,and thats just foolish to think otherwise

Lmao, you're an animal.

Fedor has that first name recognition like Cher or Madonna. No other mma fighter has that. Even if I say "Anderson" I could be talking about that homo at CNN and not the fighter.

Top 2 P4P fighters of all time, but Fedor had the kind of mystique few fighters ever have.

GSP was great, but Fedor never seemed quite human in his heyday.

Wow surprised Fedor made it this far

He is not known to anyone who watches ufc alone which is most of the world

Why. Ali is the most iconic Boxer and most people living haven’t seen him fight.

or perhaps you are wrong and Fedor in circles that you are not privy too, is considered in the same esteem as Mohamad Ali or Michael Johnson.

no wait , there is no perhaps, you are just wrong

Those two were the finalists of the other threads?

Well, none of them were my vote, but since in the definition says "idolized", just look at who kneeled to who when they met each other.

At his height Fedors aura was unmatched..maybe Anderson Silva matched it.. but Fedor had too many embarrassing fights towards the end.. I'm going with GSP at this point in time
