News George Foreman passed away, aged 76

idk what posting RIP is gonna do, but RIP

One of the greats.

His daughter was my professor. She got him to come to my college and he did an amazing speech. I met him and shook his hand. Sad

Edit so I could add that his daughter was fine af

I knew he was old but I just didn't expect him to die for awhile. I'm shocked.

Oh what, I thought it was a hoax.

Damn RIP big man. Not sure why this in a UFC thread, but still.

No cause that I see as of yet … old age sucks and im
Sure getting punched in the head ages you quicker

Absolute legend

Met him a few times and have a few kool pics and autos

RIP champ!

George was kind of part of my life. When I was really young I heard stories from my dad about how monstrous he really was and I devoured the dvd documentary with the Ali fight. Saw that about 20 times.

Saw him fight when he was older and was impressed at how good he was at his age. Wished I could have see him live in his prime

Then his run in hbo with jim and Larry was the best. By far my favorite team. And then I bought a few of his grills and made many shitty, dry steaks at my house, my room, the beach, outside, etc…

It just feels like George has always been there with me throughout my life.

Was he sick?
that's what I'm wondering, sometimes people just keep stuff like that so private. But 76 is 76, that's close to the average life expectancy (74). Still takes me by surprise when someone who seemed so vibrant, seemingly not that long ago dies.

One of the best memories I have about George Foreman is not of him as a boxer, but what he did during the riot between Golota crew and Bowe crew. You can hear Foreman trying to make peace and stop the madness that was going into the ring and around it. He even protected Lampley and Merchant. Tells a lot about the man imo. What a great caring heart he had.

yup, i remember during one of their later on air arguments he told lamps that he wasn't going to look out for him the next time. I mean, do you really want to not listen to Big George knowing what he could do if he wanted?

There's multiple threads in different sub-forums that they are merging right now.
I saw it another non-boxing site and I dropped everything and got over here. I'm wondering if the old guy who's just finishing his shift at autozone, (claimed to spar George) knows, he's a couple blocks away, almost felt like going to tell him.

Rest in Peace George Foreman. He was for sure one of the best Heavyweights of all time. Many memories watching him when I was a kid in the early to mid 90s. It was wonderful to see him become World Champion again in 1994.

I really loved his wisdom on boxing later in his life. George Foreman gave everyone credit where credit was due.

One of the scariest boxers of all time.

Yea me too.
But at the same time I'm thinking that he took a lot of shots to the head, which just isn't healthy even if you can take them so well like George. Especially in the 1990s he was pretty easy to hit.

Get over there and tell him

This is one of my all time favorite highlight videos, George was bad man
