General Gaming Discussion, v3

I always end up buying the Borderlands games at full price then get bored after a couple hours playing them. Want to say I won't make the same mistake again but realistically ...

I've easily put in well over 100 hours for the first one on the 360 alone, along with a good chunk on both PS and Steam. The sequel, my 360 characters are almost at 100 hours and my PS3 ones probably around 30-40. My laptop doesn't like the sequel...

Wired 360 controller works great.

Basically everything about Borderlands appeals to me, but then I find enemies level up alongside me and every fight become a tedious ordeal. Defiance was basically a shit Borderlands, but I sank 500 hours into it because it didn't fall into this trap (Until recently). That said Borderlands is like universally loved and Defiance is completely forgotten so maybe I'm just an assholde

Yeah, the wired 360 controller works great. You may need to download a driver off the Microsoft site, but it's pretty much the default option for any game supporting controllers. Only morons like Bioware deliberately avoid that.

Defiance. I only played the beta for that, but it looked a bit gash. Reviews up on Steam slate the devs.

Borderlands the enemies only level up with you to a certain extent. I think each map has limits. I know the playthroughs do. Playthrough 1 caps off at about 30-35. When you're cleaning up challenges that you missed earlier on, you can just one-man-army your way through the earlier parts no problem. Tis fun beasting bosses that killed you several times fifteen levels back.

Started playing Kameo this morning on Rare Replay
Decent game so far

Yeah, it's solid. Pretty much the only good game that MS got out of Rare.

I'm still getting over the shock of how terrible Perfect Dark Zero was.

Can't wait for Borderlands. Those games just have a charm about them. Easily put in 100+ hours into both games on 360.

Any Isaac players on Sherdog? Managed to get real platinum god just in time and now I can't wait til friday. Afterbirth hyyype.

Ive never played any DLC for either game and I was thinking doing that now as I wait for the new game but I deleted all my game data so I dont know if playing through all the DLC as a level 1 would be fun or just frustrating as hell

I am looking forward to GTA 4 though. And GTA 5 as well once I get around to finishing these five PS2 ones. A lot of people say GTA 3 is the toughest of the bunch (either that or San Andreas), so I might be in good shape going forward in the series once (or if) I finish that one.

Played through those five GTA games of the PS2 era over the past month, and have since moved on to GTA 4. Out of the ones I played I finished the story missions for GTA 3 and then LCS. Got close to the end of both VC and VCS, but encountered a roadblock mission near the very end of each game and didn't finish the story. Only played about one-third of San Andreas before I moved off of it. Will probably go back to that one at some point in the future.

Like I said, I started playing GTA 4 over the last few days and this shit is easy as hell compared to those PS2 GTA games. Even the mission 'Snow Storm', which was supposedly one of the more difficult missions in the game was fairly easy for me. Completed that mission on my 2nd try and really should have did it on my first if not for a dumb mistake on my part.

Good times, though. Been a lot of fun for this newbie to the series.

Borderlands 2 really pissed me off though, It's pretty much impossible to play through the game solo as Zero in the harder difficulty areas, and every time I try to play with other people they are just terrible asshats who steal all the good weapons, even if they're not even useful to them.

Nuts and Bolts was fun too. Maybe not what existing Banjo and Kazooie fans were hoping for, but I was new to them, and had a blast making ridiculous vehicles. Played the original games once they got ported to XBLA.

I've been playing Marvel Heroes lately. I enjoy it, free to play online aRPG. It kind of reminds me of Diablo but with the Marvel universe.

We don't say it's name.

Maybe not what existing Banjo and Kazooie fans were hoping for

That's an understatement.

It's certainly not terribly made or anything. It's just to attach such a highly praised platforming franchise to.....whatever the fuck N&B was, has to be one of the most boneheaded decisions of all time. I mean, as a side project it would've been acceptable, but to have it as a successor to the original games was insane. Seriously, whoever did the market research on that one should be working at Denny's right now.

Imagine if God Of War 3 came out back when the hype was at it's peak, and the developers turned it into an RTS game.

anyone interested in ori and the blind forest? Its a side scrolling platformer/puzzle solver

Graphics look stunning, and its very fast paced. Defenitely gets full use out of 1080p and 60fps. Im considering picking it up when it realeases later this year.

So I finally had a chance to check out Beyond Good And Evil. I think it holds the title of "most under-appreciated game ever" in a lot of circles. So, given all I've heard, and read over the years, I gave it a shot thanks to it being on PS+ this month, annnnnd......it's okay.

It's a good game, but I don't see the hype. Especially considering the pedigree of games it was buried under, like "Jak & Daxter", "Sly Cooper", and "Ratchet & Clank". It has some cool ideas, and the world is well realized, but it's just another platforming action game. All of the "innovations" I heard about aren't nearly as groundbreaking as I've been lead to believe. The combat is smooth, but I don't see how being able to fight multiple enemies fluidly all that impressive. The "taking photos" element is fine, but games like Dark Cloud, and Pokemon were doing it too. Other than that, it's fairly typical of the genre at the time, and does nothing all that different to separate itself.

It is a good game, no doubt, but it's not this unforgotten masterpiece I've been hearing about for years. It's main flaw, and what I assume helped it under-perform are the characters. The main character is bland as fuck, and her side-kick ain't much better. The Adventures of Plain Jade, And A Pig-Man. No wonder it didn't draw much attention.

So the #GamerGate thread just vanished into the ether, eh?

Warner Bros has given up on fixing parts of Arkham Knight for PC and is offering refunds
"Until the end of 2015, we will be offering a full refund on Batman: Arkham Knight PC, regardless of how long you have played the product. You can also return the Season Pass along with the main game (but not separately). For those of you that hold onto the game, we are going to continue to address the issues that we can fix and talk to you about the issues that we cannot fix

Yeah that's pretty annoying. Just when there was undeniable proof too.

Wow, I can't remember off the top of my head such a failure by a developer. Releasing such a broken game that they just can't fix it and to the point they offer refunds. At least they offer refunds though. You can judge them for being incompetent perhaps, but at least they aren't being unethical.

I didn't see anything posted in that thread to be deleted? I just asked in Support and waiting for an answer.

It sucks because I have no plans to buy a new gen console but I want to play the game badly.

What the hell? Just how deep does this rabbit hole go that even this far away from the games media are threads being deleted?

I had no problems on PC so I can't bring myself to get dat refund

Sorry, I haven't been following that thread closely enough. What proof was there?

Sherdogger accidentally gave Depression Quest 10/10 on Metacritic and before he knew it was he getting blown

"Master Race"...

This has nothing to do with the master race and everything to do with a shitty company giving us a terrible console port. They did literally zero quality checks on this game before pushing it out.

I think its impossible to play through solo as anyone
After Captain Jacks kills your buddy and you gotta go through that final mining town that shit becomes way too hectic for single player
I refuse to play with a group so thats where I ended up rage quitting after several days of frustration

Should be getting Battletoads in the mail this week.

I feel like I've finally arrived when I can now answer "yes" when someone asks me if I have Battletoads.

Playing it with 2 players is one of the most frustrating experiences you will ever have.

What are your specs? I'm thinking of giving it a try.

tbf my rig is pretty out of date and I could only play on med settings. Can't even remember the specs bro

Anyone a member of Gamestop's PowerUp Pro? Is it worth it?

Any Isaac players on Sherdog? Managed to get real platinum god just in time and now I can't wait til friday. Afterbirth hyyype.

I've got a retarded amount of hours in Rebirth. Afterbirth has been a blast thus far. Dying much more often lol.

traded my peice of crap NHL 16 for Xenoblade brand new:)

Cannot wait to try it out soon!
