Hot Take Gane is the problem, NOT Aspinall

Agree it was prob the worst looking eyepoke I’ve seen but I don’t care if Gane smashed him over the head with a chair Tom is showing no signs whatsoever of returning which makes him the problem now

Nothing wrong with relinquishing/stripping the belt with a guaranteed TS upon return

It’s the right thing to do

Tom really has all the tards in his back pocket. Ringside doctor told Tom there's nothing wrong him and there's no damage and to keep fighting but Tom refused to take his 5 minutes and quit instead. That should be a TKO win for Gane.

I think Tom's reaction to Ganes unintentional eye poke is very indicative of what his gameplan for the Jones fight was. Jones has a long history of eye pokes so if Tom pulled the " I'm BLIND" after Jones inevitably poked him, the fans and ref would have probably been on his side. But Gane isn't hated on the same level of Jones so his plan backfired horrifically and now he just looks like a giant pussy.
So a doctor can diagnose eye damage with just a small flash light and nothing else? They can determine that there's nothing wrong at all and zero damage? I call b.s.

And it's not the doctor's scope of responsibility to tell a fighter to keep fighting.

Gane has a history of cheating, he cheated against Tom, and he should've lost via DQ.
That being said, I think Tom is trying to use this situation for contract negotiations/getting out of his contract, but it's at the cost of his reputation.

Even before the accidental eyepoke from Gane, Tom looked sloppy out there, was too tense and winging big shots while Gane was relaxed and was starting to get into a flowy state

Gane was teeing off on Tom at will on the feet turning Tom's face was a bloody mess and stuffed a panic takedown from Tom easily

Do you actually believe this shit or are you playing a character for the forums?

Lol whose alt is this? 3 posts, account made like 3 weeks ago.

<{outtahere}>

No alt here. My name is Jon, nice to meet you. I come from a far superior and long dead forum called mmalinker.com

You actually might be retarded.

But that is besides the point. Yes, Gane should have a DQ and that count as a win for Tom.

Tom should gouge out Gsnes eyes in the rematch. Non stop intentional eye rakes and gouges.

Maybe. I like this gameplan though so probably. Great name by the way

Makes thread... calls everyone assholes.

k

So far I am correct

Even before the accidental eyepoke from Gane, Tom looked sloppy out there, was too tense and winging big shots while Gane was relaxed and was starting to get into a flowy state

Gane was teeing off on Tom at will on the feet turning Tom's face was a bloody mess and stuffed a panic takedown from Tom easily

I agree he was losing, and it looked like he had no answers in there. This makes it all the more puzzling to me that he kept choosing to attack the eyeballs with his fingers. Why? It was like Gollotta vs who was that... Berbick? No, Riddick Bowe. He was winning both fights, literally all he had to do was NOT foul. Inexplicable.

No, the issue is Aspinal, Gane is already scheduled to fight and Tom is doing silly youtube videos.
No the issue is the person committing the foul multiple times in multiple fights. Not the victim of the foul. Ironically I bet you support JBJ failure to fight Sonnen on short notice despite having huge advantages in every single aspect of MMA. To people like you that "was smart" but fighting after getting a finger in each eye 2 knuckles deep is "weak"

Then why did he eye poke? At least try when you troll (I get it you said "accidental" but dude, that's a crazy hill to die on if you actually watched the replay live)

You're 100% correct. But the dumbass CT morons who think Tom somehow faked the eye pokes in the fight, faked the doctors results afterwards, faked the surgeries he's had on his eyes, and faked not being able to train since the fight, so he can supposedly make more money boxing, aren't going to believe you.

I agree with you, but I'm an asshole. I do think this foul in particular needs to be addressed more seriously. I feel bad for Tom, but I am entertained by the whole fiasco I have to admit. The humor at Tom's expense has been harsh and underserved...but funny AF. Life is not fair.
Life itself is as fair as fair gets. People make life unfair. They should get the blame for it, not life, but the people who say that life is unfair love saying it for others, cuz they'd rather write it off then be bothered to place the blame. That is until they're dealing with the unfairness, then suddenly you usually know exactly who's to blame

There should be harsher penalties for some of these fouls.
The UFC has to stop fighters from desiring to foul bc the penalty is lots of warnings.

Gane is completely at fault for an obvious eye poke. He should of got a loss, not a NC.

Also, I had Gane as slightly ahead in r1, but people have the worst takes on that round. It was quite close, and Tom could have easily stolen the round in the last minute. They both had very similar strike counts, and it's not as if Gane hit him with more powerful shots. Even if not, it was gonna be a 5 round fight between HW so very well might not have gone to the judges anyways.
The contrast is people expected the fight to be easy for Tom, and it wasn't easy through those 4 minutes. But the idea that Tom was getting beat down is ridiculous. I've seen an interesting hot take on the first round that Tom was actually winning - with a guy on YT going over the entire round discussing why. Was quite interesting.
Anyways, as I said, live I was leaning Gane when the fight stopped, but r1 was close and very much up for grabs heading to the final minute.

People keep saying a Dr in the ring said his eye was fine. First, that's not exactly what happened. And second, there is no way a dr in the ring could know if Tom had a serious injury or not. That's why they ask if they can see, etc... They need medical scans to determine severe/permanent injury & if surgery is needed.

This has become polarizing bc some fans started to dislike Aspinall during the Jones sage (which was almost entirely on Jones)... and because he hasn't just kept his mouth shut as he has a YT channel. Really not sure why he should "keep quiet" though - who cares?
