If tom is smart, he's been focusing on leaning on his Jiu Jitsu. We've seen Gane be a complete novice in grappling more than once in there. Striking with gane gives him his highest chance to lose.

Odds are roughly Gane +300 / Aspinall -400, which makes Aspinall a parlay-sweetener on every sensible UFC 321 bet. No way does Gane have better than a 15% chance, which doesn't mean he can't win--15% chances happen about twice on a card this size--but no one who values their money is betting on Gane.

I would say it was more irritation than real shock, even though the actual moment of the eyepoke impact there might have been a moment of "oh, fuck, did he just fuck up the match?" type of shock. But that didn't last and turned to "grr, he did fuck up the match" type of annoyance very fast.
