War Wagon Gane is going to shock the world.

I don't think anyone believes Gane doesn't have a chance at beating Tom on the feet. It's the on the ground is where people believe he has zero chance and rightly so.. HOWEVER, I don't think Tom's TD's is all that great and if Gane can somehow stuff the TD's, how good Tom is on the ground becomes irrelevant.

People forget man, Gane's a once in a lifetime athlete, a HW who moves like a MW, the acting chops and soliloquies of Hamlet, and he's going to be alot on the feet for Tom. None of these guys have takedowns. Gane knows what's coming. He can out footwork Tom and pick him apart 100% for a shocking upset.

Just like he did against Jones right?
Against Jones there was at least reason to hope that Gane had shored up his takedown defense and would have a good chance to win on the feet. Against Aspinall, there's no reason to hope that Gane's takedown defense has improved and Gane has very little chance to win even if the fight never goes to the ground; his best gameplan is simply to run away as fast as he can and hope that Aspinall gasses chasing.

Aspinall’s a human highlight reel, but Gane’s slick footwork and technical game might just steal the show.
Picture Gane dancing around Ngannou’s bombs at UFC 270, landing crisp counters and kicks over five rounds—his heavyweight ballet could make Aspinall chase and test that unproven gas tank.

Tom’s has quick KOs over Pavlovich and Blaydes, plus a slick sub on Volkov , but he’s faced no one with Gane’s finesse. Gane was outstriking Volkov 146-106 and TKO’ing Lewis with surgical precision.

Aspinall’s never seen round 3 in 18 fights , while Gane’s gone 25 minutes against Ngannou and Volkov—can Tom keep up if Gane drags him to deep waters?

Seriously, if Gane avoids the early storm, he might outpoint or even finish a gassed Aspinall.

48-47 Gane, you heard it here first folks.
I think people dismissing Gane do so more to delegitimize Jones as a HW champ. If Jones hadn't man-handled him so easily on the way to a win, they'd still be talking about him like they did before their fight. I seem to remember predictions that he'd expose Jones.

No one could beat him until Ngannou did it, because his striking was that much better than everyone else, and even Francis chose to go for the wrestle-fuck decision path rather than stand and trade with him, which I thought was telling and somewhat remarkable.

He's very good. So is Aspinall. Aspinall has more ways to win, so I'd have to say he's favored. If Gane can keep it on the feet, mostly in the middle of the cage, and can keep it at distance, that's his path to winning.

Hole in Gane' grappling is too big.

If Tom doesn't grapple, than it is a good match.

Slow fat fuck Tui dropped Gane and was a punch away from getting finished. Tom sparks him out or subs him in 2 minutes.

raw

It could, I mean his only path to victory is on the feet, anyone can get KOd at HW. I think Tom is not silly enough to stand with him too long though, he'll take it to the ground at first opportunity I'd say and it won't go well for Gane from there.

how many heavywieghts can avoid getting sent to the shadow realm with ngannou?
Styles makes fights guys.

Hes a great striker on a technical level, the issue is he lacks power and has fairly weak grappling. Tom has serious KO power and is also a very aggressive and explosive grappler.

Not writing Gane off but stylistically this is a tough fight for him imo. I also think theres a good chance he would lose to some of the other guys Tom beat ie Blaydes and Pav, and we already saw him arguably lose to Volkov too.

Your sureness seemed to peter out after finishing the title mate.

I'd offer an Account Bet but this is basically a whitebelt thread

I don't know who will win, but Gane going to make this fight exciting.

Whoever wins, this is going to be a great tough grueling fight.

Why did people suddenly forget gane was the boogeyman of the division? is it because he (a striker) got choked by the literal goat?
or was it because he lost a close decision to the most dangerous hw of all time in ngannou?
many years later sherdog users still show their iq lolol
How about he won a close decision to NOT the most dangerous HW in Volkov?
How about being thrown to a ground and being mostly outstruck in that fight?

Aspinall maybe even not technically better striker than Gane, but he hits faster, harder, and he is better grappler than Ngannou

I favor Gane but it's HW. Anyone can win in HW.

The ungodly Twitter shit storm victory lap that Jones will spew if Gane beats Aspinall would break records
