I need help. I haven't gamed on a PC for decades. Just got a new PC for my work and, although it's not a beast, it seems powerful enough to have some fun.

RTX 4060

What should I expect?

My wife has an old Xbox controller with USB which will do the job.

That's in the top 25% of gaming PCs currently out in the wild.


I'd suggest you familiarize yourself with the basics of DLSS tuning. Although the most sensible thing to do if you're going to play one of the most demanding games is throw out a Google to find a YouTube video with recommended optimum graphic settings. These show the balance of quality weighed against performance penalty for any given game. You can go through every setting in like 5-10min, and then be off. This isn't necessary, but it's often worth it.

I had almost that exact setup until recently and it definitely got the job done. At 1080p I could run pretty much any modern game at high settings and any pre 2023 era game on very high.

Holding your nose is par for the course at any tech company. More power to someone who walks away from tech checks over morals, but every big company works with awful people.

Their business dealings is expected when trying to match previous growth. Troubling part i see are these CEO character trait changes into believing they are somehow superhero like entities.

It's gotten worse, but it's not like tech has ever been full of paragons of ethics. Especially if you sell enterprise, there's no avoiding selling to really shitty people, whether it's computers, IT or datacenter.

And yes, Jensen has a pretty epic ego, but he's also fairly competent. You could do worse.

Everyone I talked to is expecting tight supply for Panther Lake through most of the year (no surprise given 18a), so makes sense from that perspective. I also don't think an X9 G14 makes a whole lot of sense when it's going to be in the same price range as a CU9 and 5060 configuration.

For whatever it's worth, Asus didn't have the X9 G14 in their customer showcase (it's separate from the Venetian media room you see in videos).

Sorry what do you mean by X19 and CU9 (Core Ultra?) I am lost with Intel and AMD's new naming conventions for laptops.
