Waiting for the new crop of Nvidia 30xx powered laptops to come out (and eventually stabilize. first releases tend to be full of problems) to decide whether to get a 30xx gaming laptop, or get a 20xx one at a cheap price.

I'm in this position as well...seriously thinking of building a desktop for the first time in 8 years though.

These are the best so far.

"Bisniz."

ha that second one is great. I have a 2080Ti I'll get a 3090Ti or whatever the top card is soon as they are available in the UK.

My niece is already asking for my 2080Ti and all she plays is battle Royale and crafting games!

Using the television wasn't very fun. Madmick's reccomendation that I obtain a "G-sync" moniter was sound advice as evidenced by the approving nod the kid at Canada Computers gave me when I asked to see a moniter with that capacity. Not entirely sure what it does but for that moment I felt like I had joined some type of new priesthood.

27” WQHD (2560 X 1440) 0.4Ms (GTG) Gaming Monitor With 165Hz Refresh Rate
It took quite a bit of wheedling him down from $663CAD to $600.

I didn't like the fact that I was barely hacking it ram-wise. My rig was like a kid with skinny arms. So i got eight more and a hard drive with two "terrabytes (?)". For about $130 (CAD)

I just want a regular black card without fancy graphics, rgb, or a weird design.
I hear you. Personally I am partial to gigabyte cards.. love the 3 fan windforce design. Long time ago I had an AMD crossfire setup with an msi single fan 7970 and a gigabyte windforce 7950... The lower end gigabyte 7950 was quite and clocked higher than the 7970. That crossfire rig lasted me for years.... Til I got a gygabyte GTX 1070. Still have it too.. was a great card.

Now I have a Zotac 2070 super... Cane with my prebuilt.. let's just say I miss gigabyte

I'm currently running a Gigabyte 1070ti currently and I don't like the Windforce design, the fans are way to loud. Their RGB software is garbage as well.
I'll be going back to Asus for my next card or Sapphire if AMD can catch up.

Got a two year old high end Razer gaming Laptop that won't boot up. Anyone wanna take a chance on it and buy it, let me know and I'll post the details.

Cost me almost 3 grand but I'd let it go for a great price if any of you are either very handy and can fix it or if you are willing go through the hassle of getting it fixed. I've already bought a new laptop to replace it and I don't need it anymore.

g-sync will stop any screen tearing and give you a smooove experience.

Good upgrade and sweet thunderbird 2 model.

Good news you can run the new Nvidia cards on any express slots. You don't need 4.0 slots to run even the 3090 monsters on any 3rd generation slots without reported issues. NVIDIA to release a post to tell people because it was going around.

So I've totally bought into the hype and am planning to get either a 3070 or 3080. My current build is running an i5 6600k and a GTX960 <45>

I've decided to basically just build a whole new PC to match the awesomeness of the 3000 series. Was planning to switch over to AMD and get the 3700X. But now I see they are debuting the 4000 series next month. Should I wait for the 4000 series or just jump on the 3700X? This is why I hate buying computer parts.......the second you buy something, new stuff comes out that makes you feel dumb for not waiting.

I'm still running a 7? year old GTX 1070 8gb and I don't see why I need to upgrade it yet.

Looking forward to buying COD Cold War and seeing if my setup will play it at 4k. Games like GTA V, and all the far crys run perfect right now. I guess the last AAA title I tried 4k was Doom and it was also smooth.

The ray tracing gimmick? is the only thing my system cant do. The 2080 series cards were like 20% faster for $1000 to upgrade. It didn't seem like the benefit justified the cost last year, and now they are coming out with a Nvidia 3000 series?

I'm still using a 1070 too, but I feel it slowly falling behind. I'm starting to have to put more and more graphically-demanding games down to a Medium/High mixture in order to maintain 60 FPS at just 1080p. One of the only exceptions has been Doom Eternal, but let's face it: few, if any games are that insanely well-optimized. With the brand new consoles just around the corner, I sense a steep decline for older cards like the 1070 as developers start focusing on the newer, far more powerful hardware and using more and more effects like raytracing.

I personally plan on upgrading to a 3070 as well as a new CPU and targeting 1440p/Ultra/60+ across the board (barring rare exceptions like Flight Simulator). CPU-wise I'm probably going to grab one of the upcoming Zen 3s, but I'm still waiting to see how that situation pans out.

What sucks is that my current monitor only does 1080p, so my next major upgrade will obviously need to be a 1440p monitor. In the meantime I'll just have to do 1440p (or higher) via DSR, which will at least provide some damned good AA!

Currently I'm rocking
3600x or a 3700x honestly I forget I think it's a 3600x. - Planning to upgrade to the next Ryzen Gen when it releases.
1080ti - plan to wait and see what the Big Navi AMD is bringing out will be like before I decide whether to upgrade to a 3080 or not.
Ram - who knows I upgrade it so often I think it's 3600mhz rn but it could be a 3800mhz. I know it's 32gb.
I've got about 60 SSD's installed in my computer. so Hard drives I don't need to upgrade.

My computer has gone through so many transformations that I can't even remember whats in it anymore. The 1080ti is the onlything that's remained consistent for the last 3 years.
