Tech Gaming Hardware discussion (& Hardware Sales) thread

Not for faster speeds. Being able to alter the location of the motherboard wifi antennas allows for the strongest connection possible to the wifi router. Adjusting their orientation at the base of the I/O doesnt really help in anyway.

Most things online operate under the TDP protocol. So a general wifi user wont notice the inherent 5-10% packet loss it has. Even those who game online over wifi dont notice it for most game developers use TDP and operate at around 32 tickrate.

Lol yeah I have no real context on what you guys were disagreeing on 4 years ago or now. Like I said, RTX 40 underperformed compared to RTX 30 for about the first year, which waa partly expected. System integrators were late to take on new GPUs and they are by far the largest conduit of dGPUs, more than OEMs or DIY or scalpers.

Having said that, AMD got crushed regardless, the underperformce was vs historical, not competitors.

Honestly so many internet discussions of GPUs would be shorter if people saw Circana or GFK data. But alas that data is wildly expensive.
Yeah I mean he linked to posts from 4 years ago when the argument couldn’t have happened for another 2 years. I don’t know what the motivation to do that was and also dont really care.

Oh boy guys, MSI has the deal of a lifetime.

Why are we waxing sarcastic about these deals? I'm astonished, but some of them are downright fantastic. They're throwing in the 500GB HDD, giving a 5% discount, and the markups on the core components don't exist. They're actually trouncing the open market on the add-in prices for CPUs. Nitpick the case, that's fine, even though it got decent reviews, but that doesn't invalidate the attractiveness of the pricing.

+$200 R7-7700 (vs. $280 on PCPP, or $245 for the 7700X)

To reiterate, I linked the posts directly. Somebody unable to resolve URL paging issues (after nearly twenty years of familiarity with the forum) sounds like a classic ID-10-T problem. Looks like we have a double case of the issue, LMFAO. SMH.

I know it's a low volume product, but it suffers the same problem as most controllers like this, price. It's $300.
True but one thing in this area is almost anything involving the handicap cost more. That's an issue with these types of things. Sometimes they demand a huge premium to give someone a more normal life.

edit: Out of curiosity, how much are ya'll willing to pay per fan?

Intake case fans are the one area i dont cheap out on. Currently use two server quality PWM fans that can operate at 160cfm. Each cost around forty dollars.

I have some noctuas that are a decade old and never had an issue with any of them. I would pay 40 bucks. Steep, but they do right by me.

What, you don't like bloat on top of bloat from ASUS? This fucking app messed up the colours on my laptop after I was fucking around with RTX HDR, GameVisual on Armory Crate boosted the contrast to 100% when running of the internal GPU, it drive me fucking insane. Fuck you ASUS, fuck you in the face.
