Television Game of Thrones S08E06 Discussion Thread: Burn them all! (the writing staff) | Our Watch has ended

If only we got one season just for night king and one season for Dany VS Cersei. I have no problem with how the show ended, just wanted a better flow of getting there without all the random time skips and omission of events.

If Drogon did indeed find a red priest on the ground to resurrect Dany, how could he convey this to the priest without him just running in pants shitting terror?

Then again,if the priest is anything like Melisandre, theyd keep their fuckin cool and cast teh pheonix down

Phoenix down doesn’t work on cut scene deaths.

He has a huge revolt on his hands once they know she's dead, what's keeping them in line is that Dany will come back with her dragon.
Maybe Drogon just burns all of essos, you know he could. Thats when they send Jon Snow to handle it,cos thats what he does. Regulate.

Weiss and Benioff are such selfish assholes, deprive millions of something great just because they don't want anyone else completing their work.

What an absolute travesty. If there were any other seasons after this I would've quit this season. No reason to go on the writing is just terrible. Probably a lot of "Jon and Tyrion stand brooding." "Jon and Tyrion walk the walk of shame."

I hate this SJW bs too. A crippled king? LOL! And a war criminal gets to nominate the next king too no less. If I were Greyworm I would've told him to stay his tongue. The prisoner doesn't get to speak unless I will it.

Sansa a cowtailed woman as QUEEN of the NORTH *cringe* she didn't do anything. All she of any martial authority was help Jon at the Battle of the Bastards. There was definitely a conflict of interest there. She demands the seat of power and Bran just gives it to her. His brother. After they just voted HIM in. WTF? They are contradicting themselves.

Bran was the most boring, monotone, sullen and stoic characters for the past 4 seasons he hasn't done anything of interest since Hodor died. What the actual fuck? Worst choice ever for king.

Arya becomes a faceless man for what reason exactly? To never use her powers, to betray the order and to become a Ninja/Adventurer. What was the whole point of her going to Braavos. She didn't do anything with her abilities. Total waste of a character arc.

Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryon. Goes back to where it all started but everyone just seems to forget his lineage. Uh... what? I know the writers think it's cool and clever to see everything come back around full circle kind of like poetry it's so they rhyme. But, they ruined the main protagonist of the show and turned him into a huge cuck. What a complete pushover. Only thing he did of consequence all season was end Dany.

Dany's turn was almost on the same level as Anakin Skywalker. At least in Star Wars they only had 2.5 hours to tell his story. Game of Thrones could have had 10 episodes to show her slo-burn descent into tyranny but nope they decided to do it in one episode and now she is the wicked witch of the Westeros. Really subtle with the black costume change there too Dumb and Dumber.

Drogon just fucks off out East probably to Old Valyria. I don't know about you but a rogue Dragon is not something I would take lightly.

My favourite show is now just an afterthought. It's amazing how they can ruin a GOAT tier show in 13 episodes. This is a meteoric collapse of epic proportions. I will not see the movies or spin-offs after this. Why bother it's just gonna lead to more disappoint after this.

Fin.

A white woman taking control of a city from a white woman has something to do with white men and ethnicity? You've lost me.

You could argue that in itself hinting at how things were shifting but the 6 seasons before that? defeated a series of abusive male rulers in Essos and had a messianic "mother" image pushed very strongly.

Bran: I'm gonna go find Drogon now.

*wargs into pigeons*

If he wasnt dead...

Kraznys Mo Nakloz would have made a fine ruler of Westeros.

Cant have the unsullied getting ideas of their own.

I was thinking we need zombie g to come out of the rubble and make things interesting as Jon was walking to the throne room and drogon appeared from under the snow

Almost got interested there

You would be wrong. It is Sansa that is pure evil and setup everything to go this way.
She's been a real bitch this season. I turned to my wife when she was getting crowned and asked "Wait, am I supposed to be happy for her?"

Wrong

So what was the deal with Arya and the pale horse? She rode down the street and then just jumped off of it?

Also, what was up with the Lord of Light and Azor Ahai. All that cool mystic shit which made the show beyond a rote political thriller made this show go to the next level and all that was just swept under the rug too. And no surprise Stannis "I'm here bitch" peeking in behind Brienne at the council to put in his nomination for King.

Greyworm gets completely punked out and doesn't get any "justice" lol.. he just get's told to go home and be thankful we didn't execute you.

Don't really know what to think of that final ep.

I actually liked it right up until Jon killed Dany. I loved all the slow, quiet shots walking through the aftermath of Drogon flamethrowering everyone.

I thought the way Jon killed Dany was shit. It was just the most predictable, boring ass thing. You could tell exactly how it was going to happen.

I fucking loved how Drogon just fucking melted the iron throne instead of Jon. Clearly that big lizard knew exactly what was going on: that Dany's obsession for that stupid seat had blinded her and lead to her death.

Would've been cool if Drogon had of just turned on Dany for getting his siblings killed because she's a dumbass. Maybe he could've wiped 'em both out.

After that scene, though, it got pretty boring. No real clever twists or anything. Just boring cleanup work. Thought it was pretty funny that Bronn got on the council. One thing with all these scenes was the comedy. It really felt unnecessary. There was such a serious, heavy tone over the last few eps, then you had that dumb Tarly guy starting his speech to want to be king, and Bronn and that arguing about brothels.

And Bran. . .What the fuck? Did I miss something? Did they wrap up anything with him at all? Did he have any connection to the Night King at all? Why was he the three eyed raven or whatever? It was like they started that subplot ages ago, and then just realized it sucked and abandoned it. I remember reading another poster saying this, but it would've been cool if the last scene was Bran in his chair or some shit and it showed his eyes turn blue. I legit thought that's where it might go when he was talking to Jon and said that Jon was exactly where he was supposed to be, as if Bran The Night King had planned on Jon killing Dany for him.

Anyway, I'm glad Got is finally over. These last few seasons have been hard to watch. Such a big budget and a good starting point in source material, but the show isn't anywhere near to the greats.
