Galvao Domination

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is he seriously doing a lazy scissor-esque sweep to the guy about 26 seconds in the video? It looks like he isn't even trying to hit the sweep, and the guy just falls over.

I love this vid. His match with Elvis was pretty brutal too.

i think he was going for a pendulum sweep

This video was magnificent. The dopest jits I've ever seen. I've watched jiu-jitsu videos for 8 years now and I've practiced for half that time (with injury breaks-- too many of them), but I've never seen that kind of jiu-jitsu before. I like that style the best.

The Galvao video was obviously more significant because it took place at a World tourny but this video was great to be exposed to.

I never get tired of this vid. I love how he finishes off the reverse triangle. That position has been my latest hobby for the last month. I'm thinking of different entries for the reverse triangle and chokes-kimura's-armbar/side control transitions

Watch again man he actually gets the tap with a Kimura on the left arm, not a reverse triangle.

Yeah, it's know. I should have stated it better cause I meant finishing from the reverse triangle position (as opposed to actually finishing the triangle).

I am working on entries to that position. It's usually taught as an attack against the turtle. I believe Galvao established it from knee-on-belly. I prefer North-South attacks because IMO I am in the safest place from my opponents guard.

I like North-South attacks a lot too. I need to find this video again so I can see the setup.

I've started using a nice reverse triangle setup from side control. You transition through north south while catching under his elbow, go around to the other side, roll him right up onto his side, then just slip your leg between his head and the mat. It relies on the fact that he can't see the leg coming because his head faces the other way.

Galvao treated that guy like he was a bunch of cardboard boxes duct taped together.

TTFT because the pwnage is legendary. I always love watching this.

Just saw it on daily motion, is superb, i wonder if the guy he did it to ever competed again?
