I'm kind of amazed he had the balls to do that in competition, cause I saw the one of him with a student at the school where he was giving a seminar (iirc), but I guess if the ref could keep up with the points there, it wouldn't be a problem.
 
Woah, I heard about it but didn't think it was going to be on that level. I'm betting the dude was probably pretty mentally broken after Galvao did it the first time then pushed him, seemed like he was just letting him continue with it.
 
That was one of the most beautiful displays of grappling i've ever seen!
 
It's all the drills he does on the swiss ball... Def a very exciting bjj practitioner and one of my favorites

who was the guy he was doing that to? seemed like there was some personal beef there
 
If there wasn't a personal "beef" then Galvao appears to be a giant asshole.

Clearly he is a worldclass grappler but showing up your opponent like that is the action of an asshole...unless his opponent did something to deserve it in which case it is justified awesomeness

Yes, there was some beef there that you'll likely be familiar with. The guy was reaping his knee. You'll see that somewhere before the 1 min. mark, the guy is playing guard and tries to sweep Galvao. Apparently, that whole sequence lasted longer and Galvao was complaining to the ref that he was getting knee reaped the whole time.

So Galvao beat the snot out of him and made an example out of him. Can't remember if you met Galvao when he was in the Academy, but that dude is one nice/chill dude, for him to start pushing that guy around, he obviously pissed Galvao off.... Then he turned into some pricks you're familiar with in the gym... (skillz, stylez, and mussolini)
 
haha, that's a pretty awesome or pretty embarrassing display, depending on your perspective.
 
ok, that guy was literally not even giving an effort in the 2nd half of the video. it was like Galvao ate his soul/heart.
 
He is one of my favorite grapplers. I hope he continues to compete.

I'm sorry, but what does "knee reap" mean? I assume it would be something painful/harmful?
