I’ve been telling y’all since day 1 trump would walk. Why? Because early in 16, democrat operatives were already working behind the scenes to tie trump to Putin in order to discredit him. It’s a fairly standard political smear campaign.

As far as “Russian interference”, that’s nothing new. It’s pretty much that daily cyber “war” / “espionage” that every major country in the world engages in every day.

There’s this cool trick that can instantly negate these efforts. Don’t run shitty candidates.

Well we should know within a couple of months. To agree with you a bit, Trump has really made this worse the way Kavanaugh did, if he just shut the fuck up he'd be in a better position heading toward the end of the investigation.

You’re missing two things,

1 - trump is incapable of shutting up

2 - he needs an enemy. The republicans, Meghan Kelly, Ted, crooked Hillary, fake news, etc etc. Not only does he thrive off of it (and let’s be real, he’s not getting deep into a policy discussion), it riles up the base. When he comes out on top, he’s gonna turn it up to 11, and rightfully so.

This is definitely wrong. Kavanaugh doesn't have to run for office. Trump made a big fuss for two years with full knowledge that he was extremely unlikely to be implicated. It was a very smart setup, since ignorant 'independent' voters will inevitably see Trump as being vindicated.

This part is mostly true. Except it’s not about sticking it to the libs, it’s about winning. Because that’s the only thing that matters in politics.

I’m an admitted partisan. I’ve never claimed I wasn’t. I don’t care what kind of person he is (I’d say he’s about par for the course of rich assholes), there were 2 candidates, he had the better policies. He wasn’t my first or last choice, but he’s the horse my team ended up with, and we won.

I doubt that. Trump, just like Kavanaugh, made their position worse by playing the victim.

Note also that three people from this thread---who follow politics much more closely than the ignorant masses---were so convinced that Trump was going down that they took outlandish bets against me. One of them even took a 5-year AV bet that Mueller would indict Trump!
