Is it normal for a convict to not receive time served? I thought time served was standard. It's also the right thing to do, no?

Didn't rat, and got barely any time. He'll do 3 -3.5 years with good time. But kept his pride and his balls. Good for Manafort.

Meanwhile, the real rat is going to get some treatment even in minimum security camp. I forsee bruised face and missing comissary money on a regular basis. Sorry, Mikey, no soda and peanut butter for you. Also, give the sneakers you bought to your bunky for protection.

Manafort did some shady shit, like anyone in washington, but he got nabbed only because of the political witchunt. If law is applied unilaterally, I could care less if all of washington goes to jail. But that just won't happen.

    I hope this tempers the expectations of anyone who expects Trump to serve a day in prison for any of his crimes, Russia-related or otherwise.

    Every facet of the criminal justice system and congress is set up to shield rich white men from consequences.

    Moreover, there is no precedent for presidents facing meaningful consequences for their crimes -- not Nixon, not Clinton, not Bush.
