Yeah, the pointless little shit he does just to cause chaos in one way or another are so fucked up. I mean, the guy has murdered hundreds of people presumably, yet he still gets a kick out of scaring that kid talking about murder and fucking over that dude at the hotel when he was pissing on the bitch owner's car. He's the joker without makeup

I agree. I wasn't suggesting Malvo retire as a dentist. I was just commenting a person could retire with that lifestyle... if he wasn't already a psychopath who likes chaos and killing.

Malvo probably got more pleasure out of trolling the kids at Lester's old house than he did from screwing the hot blonde for months. :)
 
Love the show but when it comes to Malvo (love him too), there's just this fantastical element to his character and his actions that's just not kosher sometimes.

The six months posing as a dentist plan was too much when I think about it. It's uncharacteristically for a hitman like Malvo to do this because I felt like the more likely scenario when he took the job was to immediately kidnap and torture the dentist for information. Make a plausible excuse why the dentist can't be reach for the next few days as to not alert the authorities and his brother.

I think he's the the kind of character where you're wasting your time trying to put any logic into his methods or pick him apart. Just watch and enjoy IMO, they're well aware that he's an over the top, ridiculous character surely.

There was absolutely no reason for him to talk to/help/whatever Bilbo Baggins to begin with. It goes against what we see his character as but he just does literally whatever the fuck he wants at all times, so there's no sense in overthinking anything he does. Perhaps he thought it would be challenging and less boring to him at that particular time to assume the dentist identity and do a long con rather than torturing Milton Waddles. He's an extremely weird individual, obviously.

Something about Lester interests him for some reason. Enough to waste his breath on him at the hospital and kill that trucker asshole for him, enough to show at his house and kill that cop, enough to drop his cover just because Lester was in his face instead of brushing him aside the way he could have. I have no idea why, but I don't care.

I was kinda rooting for him to get away prior to the last episode. But after his stupid move of talking to Malvo and sacrificing his wife, I'm leaning on wanting him getting killed or arrested. Molly arresting him would be ideal.

I'd like to see Molly come out on top. At least have her catch Malvo, even if Lester gets away. Honestly though Lester is frustrating, he finally gets on top in life and then just fucks it all up completely. Choked at the finish line.

wouldn't be surprised if he grew up being bullied and being weak, and sees himself in Lester that way. who knows though.

that's what I thought when they first met...that he was a psycho but had a soft spot for bumbling insecure weaklings like Lester because he used to be that...but I don't know if that jives anymore. Agreed, who knows!

I'm preparing for Lester to completely change face for the finale. He's lost every likable and relatable trait he had the first 8 episodes, and now only has himself to lose. He's about to do some horrible shit next week. I hope at least.
