FX's FARGO Discussion Thread

I really enjoyed it, it was so long ago I watched the film I can't really remember it too well. Had almost a Twin Peaks feel to it.
 
I'm on board. Great dialogue throughout the episode.


I appreciated the attention to detail with covering up the evidence of the guy in the trunk by putting the deer in there. A lot of shows would overlook obvious points of evidence like that. I thought that was clever.
 
Thought the 1st episode was ok. Not blown away by it just yet, but I felt the same about True Detective as well, took some time to build up some steam (for me anyways).


It has alot of the elements that you'd find in a show that goes on to become pretty good tho. So will continue to watch.
 
fantastic episode,best opener ive seen since game of thrones

-thornton basically telling the kid to piss in the gas tank was hilarious
-def didnt see lester wacking his wife coming.
-final scene with the duluth cop was also great

anybody catch the big lebowski reference?
 
I lived in Fargo and its a shit hole city with the worst people I've ever spent time around so I will not be watching this show. Unrelated? Maybe. Do I care? Yeah a little bit but honestly that place doesn't deserve any recognition for anything and they spend a lot of time patting themselves on the back as it is. Fuck the town and fuck the show.
 
I gotta say, this pilot was one of the most well written openers I've seen in a long time.
 
Ten minutes in I was hating it and then it began to all make sense. I believe this is going to be a great show and look forward to watching it. The scene where Billy Bob gets pulled over was hilarious.

lol. you must just be an asshole. I never experienced anything like that in Fargo.
 
Great first episode and looks like its going to be a great series.

The only scene that seamed unrealistic is when colin Hanks pulled over BBT. I know the scene was set up to show us how ominous BBT is, but i feel like in real life, or at least where I live, a cop would be jumping for joy if someone said what BBT said. They would probably be harassing you no matter how hard you look or talk.

Did you live there? Passive aggressive population that smiles in your presence and slits your throat when your back is turned damn near every soul there is like that.

I think the other part of that seen was to show what a pussy Collins character is.


But I agree, that seen was kind of worthless.

just responding b/c you live in AZ. I live in Phoenix and have lived in Lansing, MI. The people are the same every where. A lot of people can be two-faced and a lot can be genuine. But the heat in Phoenix does make people here moody....so does the cold in MI.
 
Lol. and you live in Arizona now which I've heard described exactly the same. and yes I lived there for 20 years.

if you're claiming the whole of a population is nice to your face and cut your throat behind your back you might be the problem mom...

Yea, I hope Colin Hanks character turns out to be stronger...but then again, Fargo is known for its strong female leads.

The police here would love any reason to smash your head against the glass. If you mouth off to a cop, not to mention threatening them and their child, most likely your jaw would be shattered.
