FX's FARGO Discussion Thread

This just occurred to me, but wouldn't Emmit's broken cellphone all over the road right at the crime scene next to the slain trooper, have connected him to the incident?

Hah. I would think so. I didn't think of this - wonder if writer didn't either.

Really didn't enjoy this season. Seemed to be more style than substance and there were too many ridiculous scenes and things that didn't add up. The 1st season instantly had me hooked, as did the 2nd. This took ages to get me into it and was a damp squib.

It's also a credit to the actress, the way she carried herself was completely different in both roles. In Gone Girl she is loose, modern, sexy. In Fargo she is more reserved, old-fashioned, introspective. Impressive work.
She was also in the Leftovers. Good actress, she nailed the north-midwestern accent.

Also, aside from what everyone else is wondering here, what was the significance of the old sci-fi story and the UFOs? Was the robot really just supposed to be an analogy to Burgle and her feeling that she can't do anything, while still wanting to help?

I think Varga ends up getting out. Nothing works out for Burgle, and that trend continues. She was the first unlikeable main cop in the series for me

I dunno, the DHS is a step up compared to Eden Valley PD. It does seem like she started to catch a break in the end.

I meant nothing associated with Varga. Idk I don't think they made her likeable or badass, so I never rooted for her character

i think that flashback episode in LA was a waste of time aside from establishing some backstory for elder stussey

wonder what happened to the Russian with the ear blown off

and ray wise' character, was he supposed to be God or the universe or something? I don't remember seeing him after the bowling alley so did he kill the Russian henchman ear dude and that wa the end of his arc?

Just finished this.

Fargo does it again, started off a bit slow but was great once it got into it. VM Varga is one of my favourite villains in recent memory. Great performances all around imo.

8.5/10

Necro-bump. Just finished watching S1 and S2 over the past two weeks and I'm ashamed I wasn't watching this at the time of release. I think S1 slightly edges out S2 for me because I like the smaller story with bad things happening to small town people with a few cold blooded killers instead of throwing in entire criminal organizations. A whole lot of "I know that actor, and him, and her and those two as well." I didn't realize they had some many stars and minor but known actors in the show. Hanzi (sp?) will always be my boy.

Probably going to take a week or two and then start S3.

Noah Hawley - "I now have an idea that's less in the corner of my eye and more in front of me," says Hawley. "I don't have a lot of time right now to focus on it. What I can say is that it will be another period piece."

Looks like season 4 will be another rewind in time.

Season 3 is great as well.

I'm just about to finish season 2, I absolutely this series. 2 isn't as good as 1, but it's not like the drop in True Crime from season 2 to 1. I love Billy Bob Thorton, and he's amazing in as a Hitman, so it was always a tough act to follow, but it's still great.

Season 2 has a totally milfed Kirsten Dunst (one of my all time favs). She beefed up for the role, so her natties are extra nice in this. Stellar cast all around!

season 3 wasn't bad either, season 4 is supposed to star chris rock?

Great series. It is just disappointing that it takes a minnium of 1.5 years for a new season to air. Season 4 will probably take 3.5 from season 3 ending, since production will conclude in 2020...
