And on another note, was I the only one having trouble concentrating on the parking lot scene because ot Nikki's jeans? Mary E. Winstead really put in the work with those squats, didn't she?

Great episode. Varga very well likely pass Malvo as my favorite Fargo villain when all is said and done.

Sy was defo the MVP for me, he's probably my favourite character.

Damn that pee drinking was brutal. Think Sy is going to kill her?

The whole scene was brilliant including Varga obliterating Sy's wife.

For me this one blows away the second season, I'm loving it. All they have to do is not massively fuck it up. First season is still king so far though.

Neck and neck with season 2 for me. Season 1 is waaay behind these last 2. The pacing in season 2 was really well done, as was the use of the soundtrack.

Varga suffering from an eating disorder is a very strange trait for someone as subtley menacing as him. I wonder if that'll somehow play in to his probable demise by the end of the season? Maybe the writers wanted to show that he is indeed flawed and has a weakness just like the rest of us, or maybe it was just a way to expand on his character.

He's a glutton, that's part of the point with the eating disorder imo. I think the other point is destruction -he spits things back out worse off than they were going in. My take anyways. He's a terrific villain in so many ways. They cast the perfect guy to play him too.


My only issues with this season so far are the pacing -long stretches without seeing certain characters- and the fact that only some of the main characters are interesting to me. Varga, his two Hitmen, Ray and Nikki are by far and away the most interesting. Sy is entertaining and is well acted, but his character is kind of meh. Same goes for Emmit and the female cop (can't even commit her name to memory yet lol).


That said, they're starting to do a good job of laying the story out and letting it develop. I remember reading gripes during season 2 as well that were sort of in line with this. Tho, looking back I'd say season 2 was paced very well and played out very much note for note consistently.

Ted Danson was great & so were the main couple. Started off good.

Then the plot quickly went off the rails after about 3 episodes, the whole thing turned into style over substance, like it was trying too hard to be cool. By the time it got to the end, the UFO, the native dude having facial surgery... it was pure retardation

On the flip side, I don't hate the 1st season, just didn't find it as entertaining as the 2nd. It has the feel of a show that was trying to figure out what it was going to be but wasn't quite sure yet. And outside of BBT, I absolutely hated the casting. Terrible casting that season. They've knocked it out of the park these last 2 seasons tho.


Varga better win every award available come time. That dude is making this show his bitch. Winstead is doing a great job too .

The montages in season two were incredible. I can't find the opening to season 2 episode 10, but that was by far the best opening of the whole season. The music. The fucking music was so great that season.

So I guess this is the right time to let you guys now that 5 days ago she announced she is divorcing her husband.



Hopefully the divorce being amicable means she will still do that martial arts movie with him.

I’ve been very quiet about what I’m trying to get made right now, and I haven’t said anything. Since you guys are all here and really cool and everything, the next thing I’m doing is a movie called The Art of Self-Defense. I finished [writing] it in September, and it takes place in the world of karate. I’m not joking. I love martial arts, and in particular Ju-Jitsu. I don’t think you can make a really interesting Jiu-Jitsu movie, because it’s all guys rolling around on the ground, so karate was the other idea then. It was going to be a certain way, but I’m changing a few things. Mary is now the lead of it. We’re slowly getting it together. We got a producer on board. It’s just been a slower process, but I’ve been very carefully trying to get that one made. So, you heard it here first.
