FX's FARGO Discussion Thread

I haven't had time to read all 40 pages here, are there any theories on the UFO shit and did you guys notice the Indian guy Hanzee had 2 hours of missing time?

I haven't been checking out the other Fargo sites, I'm trying to avoid spoiling myself.

It's really odd about the UFO but I don't mind it since it adds a bit of quirkiness to show ala Twin Peaks.

Didn't really notice Hanzee was missing for 2 hours.

Waitaminute, this show is actually good?

Shocking, isn't it? I know, you hear "Fargo the TV series", and you think it just has to be terrible.

It's stellar. Episode 1 of season 1 should immediately convert you. It's not just cashing in on it's name. The show lives up to the quality of the movie. It's awesome.

If I remember correctly, it was right before he got hit by the car. There was a UFO in the distance, he looked up at it, got entranced, and that's when he got hit.
You've got my attention...

After watching the hospital parking lot scene I was hoping battlestar galactica would snap out of it, especially after the theater flashback in the beginning of the episode. You could see him twitching and growling, like his minds still there but his body isn't.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one last rodeo from him at some crazy pivotal moment.

One of my favorite shows atm. I'm starting to hate titties mcgee but I feel the showrunners want us to feel that way.

This is honestly the best show/season that has aired this year.

Better than GoT season 5. Better than Mr. Robot and everything else.

Episode 4 was great. Love this episode.

So many amazing scenes:
- Otto's violent rise to power and a taste of Dodd's upbringing.
- Floyd and Joe's sitdown meeting and the dialogue.
- Lou's dead man walking speech to Ed and Peggy.
And so many more.

Lou is just too badass. Dodd ordering donuts was also hilarious.

I'm interested to see how the aliens tie into the story though

Sounds like I have to check this shit out.

Season 1 is one of the GOAT first season's of television. Season 2 is four episodes in, and also shaping up to be excellent. Get on it, asap.

I just about jumped out of my sit when Peggy's boss mentioned that the fucking seminar was in Sioux Falls, the setting of the infamous massacre Lou mentioned in season 1.

About to watch episode 4 on DVR. I've loved every minute of this show so far, i wish i could binge watch the entire season.

For those that have watched season one:

Are you not worried that every character you've met so far is likely going to die? In the first season, all the main characters except Colin Hanks bites the dust IIRC. So are you expecting everyone except maybe Lou (S2) to die? Or will the producers throw us into a tailspin and have most of them live?

FWIW, I think everyone dies.

Another great episode. I'm interested in where this alien thing goes, along with the fate of the characters. They've done a really great job at getting you to care about the characters, I get kind of sad when i see Betsy, since we already know her fate pretty much.

I think the majority of them will die. Lou and Molly (If you count her, since she's such a minor character this season) survive for sure. I think 2 or 3 others may slip through the crack also, but I'd guess that almost every main character dies.

It's a safe bet most of the gangster characters will die. As for the rest, not really concerned if they die, except for Ted Danson's character and Fatt Damon.

Nice catch. So I guess Peggy goes to her stupid class in Sioux Falls and meets her demise there.

I look forward to this show more than any other on tv right now. Every scene this season has been awesome. Haven't seen season 1 yet, figure I'll hold off until after s2 ends and catch up.

All the evil characters are weirdly likeable too.

The scene with the doctor talking about the new drug and they are just staring at him like so "So are we getting the real one or what" had me cracking up. The sense of humor in the writing lives up to the movie so much.

I am hoping Patrick Wilson survives. Well, him and Nick Offerman, because Ron Swanson can't fucking die. We know that Wilson's wife in the show is likely as good as dead, as are Fatt D. and Dunst. I doubt (I dunno how to spell the Indian guy's name, I am not gonna try) is going to rest until they are taken to Dodd or just flat out killed. But I think its likely most if not all of the gangsters die, except maybe stroke senior just to throw us a curve or maybe his wife, who fades away into the sunset when all her sons die.

As you said, unless the show throws us a curveball, we all know Lou is going to survive.

Floyd (played superbly by Jean Smart), the matriarch, is another example of the fantastic characters in season 2. Just thought I'd give her a mention.

She really is. Her acting is so subtle yet powerful, to try and control maniacs like Jeffrey Donovan and yet play a motherly role is superb.

I hate Dodd's daughter, she drives me nuts. You can understand her rebellion with how Dodd treats her but damn she is annoying.

The daughter's nude scene is frustrating to watch... because they keep on carefully obstructing the good parts. :icon_lol:
