Fury vs Wilder was a complete slopfest

It’s pretty hard for me to imagine mike Tyson beating Tyson fury and I’m one of Mike Tyson’s biggest fans ever

im in this camp.

Mike Tyson is my favorite fighter ever and in his prime ill put him against anyone. I really dont know if he could beat Fury

Name me one Elite fighter ever beaten by Mike Tyson....

I love Tyson, I grew up watching him on TV decimate everybody but crying about a shit HW division while his best 'Prime ' wins were beating the likes of Razor ruddock,Mitch Green,an LHW in Michael Spinks. 38 year old Larry Holmes is hindsight at its finest (Fury beats ALL of those too)
I love Mike Tyson I slept outside his hotel as a 15 year old to meet him like a weirdo. But at this point hes half truth and half myth and a go to for anyone who doesnt know what theyre talking about to go 'MikE TySon in HIS PriME Wud BeAt evErybody'
Thats not to see he wouldnt/couldnt have beat Fury or Wilder. But its all based on him beating average to good but not great fighters (That was his prime years) and not on the basis of what he did to any Top TOP fighters.

im a Mike Tyson nut hugger but youre right, he didnt beat any GREAT fighters, but he made really good fighters look like children. hes a genetic phenom.
his speed and power combination with head movement was scary. He kept his hands in a defensive position while moving forward and threw with unheard of power.

His resume will never live up to other peoples, it just cant. but his PRIME ,his short, cus d'amato prime, is the best, fastest most terrifying human being ive ever seen.

You cant ever say hes better than Ali, or Foreman, or other great. you just cant, their careers are better.

but to say that in his PRIME he couldnt beat them, thats a lie. He damn sure could, doesnt mean he would of, but even the old school greats that watched him in his prime spoke of how unbelievable he was until his downfall

Agreed he most definitely COULD.

Not sure what you’re laughing at. It’s much more silly to act as if you’re sure about the outcome than it is to be unsure.

mike never fought anything even close to Tyson fury

And?
Can Fury hit like the Ford Escort?!
I don't think so!

ive seen no proof that francis hits harder than fury.
fury fights off his back foot and makes people look silly.

he finally went on the offensive and pummeled wilder into submission.

francis can knock people out in under 2 minutes with tiny gloves, or go 5 minutes and gas.

ill take fury 15/10 times

I'm not sure

But to say you can't see how the most athletic, gifted and skilled heavyweight ever can't beat a far less skilled one, who struggles with far far far inferior competition is just silly

Actually go and watch Tyson Fury's fights instead of exclaiming him the next coming of Jesus.

The thing with mike, he was the most impressive looking heavyweight of all time because of his skill level and his athletic ability, so he beats everybody based off the eye test. The major problem for him aside from his size, is that one of the most important aspects of fighting heart/grit he never proved that he had. People like to assume that young mike was tougher mentally but that's just assumption. Tyson looked better based off of the eye test than holyfield too and that was even after prison, but those fights weren't even competitive. You'd have to think if tyson didn't come out and just dominate, then fury would have the advantage. So then comes the question, how confident are you that tyson just dominates fury like some journeyman?

Calling Tyson the most athletic and skilled heavyweight ever as if it’s a fact is a big, big stretch. He’s highly skilled and extremely explosive. Fury is undefeated. Mike lost many times to competition far inferior to fury. That conversation goes both ways.

Mike struggled with aspects of boxing that fury excels at.

I hadn't watched boxing in years, my god how the talent has gone downhill. A prime Mike Tyson would have completely starched today's heavyweight division.

I find it hilarious that people actually think these two slop fest boxers would have a remote chance in MMA. They'd get taken down, easily, and get absolutely wrecked.

The way they boxed, I wouldn't be completely surprised if someone knocked them the fuck out standing.

Tyson Fury would die in an mma cage, and there is not one mma fighter who would stand a chance in a boxing ring with him. Fury would outbox Mike Tyson..

Mike Tyson was 5’11” and would have been bullied. Today’s HW’s are Monsters. MMA comment is the only thing valid in all of this.

You are 100% on this.

They would not do well at MMA, because they have no training. Just like Fury and Wilder would likely not do well in ballet.

A 6'9" 275lb man who is maneuverable and powerful for 12 rounds deserves nothing but respect.

OP has clearly never sparred. One 3 minute round is exhausting, 6 is incapacitating, and 12 is torture.

Furthermore, the man has been boxing since he was 10. He's slick as fuck. He looks a bit off because he's a giant, but he's slick. Part of the "sloppiness" was tying up Wilder and leaning on him. That is strategic, it tires him out and takes away his long screening 1-2. Beyond that, Fury was throwing disguised check hooks (looked like jabs, but wrapped around the guard), boxing dirty on the interior, and throwing 275lbs behind every single straight he threw. It was actually incredibly technical, though I will concede that it was not as pleasing to the eye as M. Tyson's extremely sharp striking and movement (but then again, he was literally doing the opposite- Fury was fighting a power puncher, not being one).

Lastly, Fury is a full foot taller than Mike, with 55 more pounds, and has been boxing since he was 10. Prime Mike is legendary, but it would by no way be a sure thing.

As for boxing fans not knowing how to read, that is nothing but tribalism. The casuals of both sports are subhuman fodder. The real fans are extremely knowledgeable are, like most of Sherdoggers, pure Apex Chads.

I really dont know if he could beat Fury

He would get inside on Fury in no time, and be dropping bombs. That keep away Klitschko jab ain't working on Tyson. He's far too quick. Fury would be hitting nothing but air, in the two or so minutes it would take Tyson to swarm and finish him.

Tyson was a freak of nature. Neither one of those guys would have anything for him.

Erh, it's universally recognized that Mike Tyson fought ZERO elite heavyweights in his prime and that the division was extremely thin when he was active. His best wins were probably 38-year old Larry Holmes, Frank Bruno, Razor Ruddock and Spinks. He had trouble when he fought big guys who weren't afraid of him - like Buster Douglas or Lennox Lewis.

Mike Tyson was amazing to watch and an athletic phenom... but Tyson Fury would have been a terrible matchup for him.

Berbick, Smith, Thomas, Tucker, Holmes, Tubbs , Spinks, were all world champions and quality fighters. Big strong, skilled, ripped, prime fighters, not to mention Bruno, Biggz, Ruddock. All of them were better or as good as Wilder, If that era was 'extremely thin' then this era is lol!

Fury struggled against a can 2 fights ago and now suddenly prime Tyson can't beat him. You muppets are hilarious. Tyson was way too fast and Fury is quite hittable. Tyson KO.

Mike Tysons entire style was about getting past someones reach and destroying them

14 inches is fine for Tyson, once the punch has missed, it's missed , then you just have to close a 14inch gap with your feet. Tyson being an expert in doing this along with being an athletic freak would do it just fine, as he did against every other fighter

Fury is quick for a man his size but not in the same speed realm as Tyson, it would be Fury who needed to adapt and struggle to Tyson's speed not the other way round

Fury has an amazing jab? Does he? He has a good jab yes, amazing? I've never seen it, show me? He just has a good jab which is exactly what Tyson used to invite so he could slip it and get inside and wreck you

As for being a foot taller, Tyson would simply chop that big old body down with his ferocious body punching , a smart stratergy because Fury has an iron chin and how is Fury gonna get anything off with Mike Tyson in close on his chest. Either way Tyson has KOd many a tall man

People have such a terrible recency bias. Fury just had a hard time with unknown Otto wallin , two fights ago. Go and watch that fight and say prime Tyson will struggle

while youre not technically wrong, at all, but rememeber Fury weighed over 400 lbds recently and was inactive for almost 3 years battling drug addiction and depression. I think he bounced back quite well

I said I wasn’t going to post here anymore bc of the sites lack of professionalism but this post makes it impossible to do that.

First off you don’t discredit current guys you appreciate them

Two Mike Tyson is a great fighter still but you can’t compare him to how the games changed and that’s guys averaging 6”5 ,Tyson would win but he has a tough time against today’s giant athletic fighters more l I have Joshua the only guy capable of getting a prime Mike Tyson bc you need to hurt that guy and have skills .

Three. The top guys are really good and anyone can be stopped,if ppl really want to win bets they would have followed my posts. I’m out.

Wilder is a strange Boxer. Is his power because of his weird technique? Would he lose power if he was conventional? Using Tyson as a gauge, he struggled with technical long reach boxers. I feel Fury would be able to avoid him and out point. Wilder would eventually crack him and Tyson wasn’t known for his chin. Keep in mind the reach is 71 Tyson 83 wilder and 85 fury.

mike Tyson would sleep wilder a long time before he managed to land that straight right. I’d give it 3 rounds tops
