Full kit w**kers, now an MMA problem? Challenge....

If there was ever a chance for a 'UFC? You're having a laugh!' chant it was at the last main event.

If only there was any reason for a large British contingent in the crowd ...

The classics to referees "You don't know what you're doing", "Who's the wanker in the black?" and "You're not fit to referee" is useful any time Mazaghatti is near a cage.

"You're so shit it's unbelievable" at James Toney maybe?

Fresh meme. Nice confession.

What's with the salute?

From when Sherwood and Ramsey were thanking Adebayor for his service innit. I remember it becoming a little thing for a short while.

I always liked that Petr Cech one anyway:

I generally wish we kept our culture of chanting/songs from football, rugby, cricket, etc. for MMA. It annoys me when americanised chants start because it's not our style. The Irish for example keep their style of chanting so we should too. Football chants can be the funniest things sometimes whereas Americans generally can only chant 'Lets go Fighter X' or U.S.A.

Say what you want.

U S A is a damn good chant, even if it's lacking creativity.

That is pretty dumb.

I can understand wanting to wear a Jersey, but even that's a bit much.

no its as creative as..." ingerland!" boring as fuck, the point of a good chant is to wind up the opposition, show your complete contempt for a decision, or referee, and to make people laugh.
when man utd played liverpool the chants at the korean player park...
""Park, Park, wherever you may be, you eat dogs in your home country! But it could be worse, you could be scouse, eating rats in a council house!"
perfectly convey both scorn and humour in one chant .
there was a midfielder at brentford, bob booker, and when he chopped an opponent down , the crowd would instantly sing the death march, followed quickly by "booker!" :)

I honestly had NO IDEA this was a thing!!! I've never seen this phenomenon stateside, but the reebok kit theory could actually hold some water.. Hilarious!! :icon_neut :icon_surp :icon_lol:

In America, Soccer is a girls sport as evidenced by the women winning the world cup thing while our men suck at it. And women like to wear floral print dresses in Murica and hold their breastesses while running.

Love when murican's (fuck yeah!) try and justify the fact that they are not the best at the greatest sport in the world with their so called "superior athletes" you guys should be dominating, i wonder why? salty much.

Oh and don't get me wrong americans, i love most of you, just not the douchebags that think America is the be all and end all of everything good in this world, it gets really annoying after awhile how brainwashed some people sound.

Someone needs to catch one of these wankers in a pic soon!

...if not lack of interest, what's your explanation for why America isn't top dog in soccer? It is the third largest country in the world, and the two above it are more racially homogeneous and much less wealthy. The US has over 300M people, lots of money, is very multiethnic, has a strong sports culture...does this sound like the profile of a country that would be bad at soccer? Doesn't to me. It sounds like social reasons--i.e. lack of interest--plays a the main role in why they don't do well.

That will probably change in the next decade or so, though, as the ever increasing number of Latin American immigrants popularize soccer.

Soccer won't really ever take off here until it takes of in the high schools.

You go to high school American football games and the stands are packed.

You go to a high school soccer game and only the parents of the players are in the stands.

I played in high school and we won the state championship twice and got to play in Sun Devil Stadium in Phoenix, AZ. Same place the world cup was in 1994....which had record attendance numbers for the games. So americans will go out and watch soccer when its a "spectacle" like the world cup.

Soccer just has no history here. So it will be a long time before it catches up to baseball, basketball and football. Just like MMA. You need generations and generations of people teaching their kids soccer/mma for it to become engrained in society.

When Copa America was on last month....the only time it got put on one of the 30 TV's in the sports bar was when some Brazilians vacationers came in and asked for it to be put on. Otherwise the TV's will be on LPGA and European basketball leagues before soccer ever gets put on.
