Frank Mir vs. Daniel Cormier POLL

cormier will tear mir apart. can't wait for this fight. don't like mir at all.

Everyone said the in Kongo fight that he was going to get Ko'd and wouldn't be able to take him down. The complete opposite happened, he dropped Kongo with a devastating overhand then chokes him out with a Half-Guard Guillotine.

Mir was a favorite in that fight. Kongo was almost a 2 to 1 dog. Nog was more than a 2 to 1 underdog in their second fight. Mir has 3 major instances of overcoming odds: Nog 1 (where he was over 3 to 1 underdog) and Sylvia (where was was less than 2 to 1) and Lesnar 1 (where the line were basically even). Interestingly enough, Cormier has been an underdog in both of his biggest fights, as well. Mir isn't Bernard Hopkins who has regularly has overcome at least 3 to 1 odds in his biggest fights.

Cormier wins this fight hands down. Nog rocked Mir standing. What will Cormier do? It'll probably look like Carwin/Mir, but with more wrestling and less of Mir's face visible behind the blood.
 
Mir does terrible when he is facing someone who is way faster then him on the feet. His only realistic chance is to somehow slip in a submission but versus a phenomenal wrestler that is easier said than done. Cormier TKO, probably in the second round.
 
I can't believe how much people are sleeping on Mir. I got it pretty even but with the odds I'm definitely taking Mir. I voted Mir by KO/TKO.
 
I got Cormier vie more power and speed but Mir could also take it on the feet.
 
I'm actually shocked at the knowledge and lack of stubborness in this thread. Usually its full of TUF newbs who pick the UFC guy by default.

Gone are the days of "Strikeforce is bush league".

Yeah but that was is 14th fight, but when Bader was 11-0, like Cormier is now, there was a lot of hype behind Bader as as up and coming force on the LHW div.

Cormier is winning but he doesn't look like world-beater... and he's far from being the next Fedor... right now he's in Bader territory when he was 11-0 with a couple of names under his belt and a long way to go... we'll see, I hope DC does well but I'm not convinced he's the next Fedor or Jon Jones... or Anderson Silva, or GSP or any other fighters who's been able to prove how good they really are... Cormier just isn't there yet.

I would say Cormier is more proven at this point then when Bader was 11-0, at that point Bader's biggest win was Jardine who had lost 2 in a row and was 1-3 in his previous 4 with the 1 win being a very close decision over Vera.

Barnett is a top 10 HW of all time, Jardine is not a top 10 LHW of all time.

Cormier's run is more similar to Weidman's than it is to Bader's.
 
7 out of 11 of Daniel's fights have ended via punches to the face.
6 out of 6 of Frank's losses have ended via punches to the face.

You must live in Neverland if you believe Mir can pull this one out.
