Big fan of Francis.. he's in my top 3 favourite fighters..

But a little worried he's not focused enough for his fight with Gane..

According to his insta he's been travelling a lot, not much evidence of training / focus.. this could be a fatal mistake.. no doubt Gane is training his ass off right now.

Gane is potentially his most dangerous test to date, and Francis has a LOT of room to grow technique wise.. kind of surprising to see him chill so much right after winning the title.. anyway, just my two sense..

Go ahead and trash me (as is the way on sherdog)

I think he really got his hopes up for the Jones fight, might be having a hard time getting up for this one

“Not particularly,” Ngannou said. “But it’s a good fight. You have to be aware of the danger of any fight, so it’s a fight, he’s a good opponent, but not on the level of a Jon Jones fight for example if that’s what you’re asking. It’s not the same thing.”

This could be as dangerous as the Jones fight though.. what is he thinking?

Maybe he knows something we don't (training with Gane)

Who knows but I don’t think it was the danger of the Jones fight that got him excited, I think it was the overall magnitude of the fight. To go from all time great fight, to just another title defense is probably a big let down.

The fight's January 22, a tad more than three months out. If he had started fight camp already for it he'd run the risk of overtraining. Too much stress and strain on the body is as bad in its own way as underpreparation.

True, although he's already in his mid 30s and still quite raw technique wise..

You'd think he'd want to focus on keeping the title and the money associated with it, and focus on developing his technique and staying at xtreme couture, but he's been bouncing all round the place..

The bout isn’t even listed on the UFC’s upcoming events under UFC 270. Wonder if Francis has even signed the agreement yet?

I'm more worried he's not as hungry as he was now he's champion. I don't like it when champions sit on their ass due to their laziness.
post your picture. I want to see what kind of specimen a nonlazy undiscovered meta human as yourself look like since you look down on a champion of a sport where toughness and ability doesn’t come with laziness.
