yea, you missing the point, that's why I said, tyson will sell the shit out of it. Francis just needs to be a big muscular prop and have a title of ufc champ. Tyson will sell this shit, it is easy money.
sprinkle in some UK vs france thing and a bit of racism angle.

Kind of expected, Francis got somewhat lucky on the Game win betting on himself. His management knows his free agency interest could go down tenfold after his next ufc fight. For him to compare a Jones fight against a couple boxing fights Is likely an easy choice money wise. And he was prob not even offered Jones, who knows

Did Francis make the right choice in leaving? I think a one off boxing fight is his best choice.

Boxing - possibly $5-10M for a one off boxing (not $10-50M as some dreamed up) go check out the purses that Fury's recent opponents earned. Francis could cash out with a big fight vs Wilder, Joshua or Fury (who probably won't be available until 2024 with 2 possible Usyk fights) and then the balloon deflates when he likely loses to any top guy.

PFL / Bellator - Wouldn't signing Francis to $5M+ a fight bankrupt either of these promotions eventually? Hard to imagine either of them crushing it in PPV sales even with Ngannou headlining. Could it even crack 100k buys? Maybe if the price was cheap, they can't sell it for close to UFC prices and expect to do well.

ONE FC - Don't they have shady financial ties behind the scenes? Maybe if all supposed 6 billion viewers are interested then this could be a great promotion for him to go to.

Also to top it off, the balloon will burst if he takes a single loss and none of these promotions will have the ability to use highlights of Ngannou's UFC knockouts to promote their events.

lmao you are dreaming if you think they offered him even 4m a fight.
they offered him 2 which he rejected, so probably bumped it up to like 3-4 million max....

He's said they've tried to work on a deal with Francis for almost 2 years, but they couldn't make it work.

Says they offered Ngannou a deal which would have made him the highest paid HW in UFC history.

This is almost certainly a lie lol

Lmfao ngannou has become a total joke

Big Frank just priced himself out of his prime.
He’s not getting a huge boxing payday now that he doesn’t have the promotion of being UFC champ, Fury or Wilder wont care about a former champ.

UFC promotional machine gets to move on without him and promote the next “baddest man on the planet”, Big Frank just Diva’d himself into a hole.

I had no idea UFC employes posted here.

How about you tell your boss to stop being a cheapskate. Also let him know about the inflation going on and life is not cheap these days. Why destroy your health for chump change?

Francis will do well in boxing and its healthier because he doesn't have to endure the back breaking aspect of grappling and the same goes dealing with Muay Thai and all the injuries that come from it.

Dana keeps this up, UFC is going to go out of business because athletic people know their worth because they know where they stand. You end up with bunch of unathletic dorks wanting to fight in the UFC in future times and no one wants to watch that shit. Very good chance UFC will go out of business in due time.

5-10m he could've made that in the UFC and actually had a shot at winning the fight. in boxing he'll maybe 4m and destroyed by any of the top guys. what's the point? it's just Ngannou's delusions of grandeur.

bullshit, jones is so protected its insane

Jones isn't even fighting, what schizo talk is this? You think the UFC doesn't want to push a guy like Ngannou who is extremely marketable? Ngannou is just being a bit greedy and doesn't understand that his age is a detriment now. Probably wants too many fights guaranteed. I'd only give him 3 if I was the UFC.

This is a sad day for UFC fighters and their future. If a champion with a great backstory can’t negotiate any freedom or flexibility, what are lesser fighters going to do?

The sport will never see progress, as long as there are millions of people willing to die for Dana White and his women-beating.

I think this is the real story. A key problem with UFC contracts is that they are both exclusive and long term. That the UFC can restrict Ngannou's ability to take fights for years, when he isn't an active fighter for them, is unconscionable, and shouldn't be upheld by courts.

whyte made 5mill vs Fury. Franny pack aint making shit
Whyte made 8M on a 80/20 split as a journeyman and kickboxer and MMA fighter who never held a reputable boxing title. Source

It's not a stretch for Francis to get 10mil easy if Tyson accepts. And Fury would do anything to keep from fighting Usyk and has already entertained the idea.

Nobody is paying Francis 10 million.

Francis could make $10 mil fighting Tyson just from U.K revenue alone. Fury's last fight in 2022 vs Chisora a guy I never heard of and probably most MMA fans. They did in a soccer stadium and sold 57,000 tickets. The PPV was at 27 British Pounds or $33, they sold more than 500k and made $23 Million. With the gate that is gonna be at least $30 Million dollars.

Replace Chisora vs Ngannou and you probably double the total profit if not triple. Say it only doubles they sell 1 Million PPV's in the U.K thats $60 Million. Well in boxing half of the money usually goes to the fighters and even if its 60/40 for Tyson, Ngannou would still end up with at least $10 mil just from the U.K

Move on.

Francis doesn't want to fight under UFC terms -- then move the fuk on. Taking up space is a waste for all parties.

Life is too short to worry about other people's relationships, problems, business, etc.

Fury isn't taking that fight, lol.
it’s a pretty easy fight for him and basically the biggest money name he could get right now. i doubt he “wouldn’t take” that fight. it could fall through for a million reasons but not simply because fury says no.

This seems like a bad idea unless Francis has major knee problems.

I don't see Francis making that much from boxing other than for his first fight unless he wins & continues winning, which I don't think is likely. Boxing fans will be one & done with him if he loses. Also, if Jon Jones beats Gane, especially if it is impressively its going to hurt Francis' hype.

On another note: All of the people that think the UFC should let mma fighters box on the side either must be new or have forgotten what it was like several years ago when every other PPV fight was getting cancelled, because all of the fighters were constantly getting injured sparring hard/overtraining in the gym.
