I like how Dana played it as if they released Ngannou. No...he was a free agent and served out his contract. They'd be like saying you fired someone that quit the company 18 days ago.

Frank made it clear that the UFC contract situation had to change. He wanted the ability to box, become an actual employee of the UFC with health benefits and a pension.

I fully support Big Frank in trying to make that change and hope he gets paid big with PFL and a Tyson Fury fight.

Sad to see him go but he had a sick UFC career and Jones/Gane is an awesome fight.

I would see them as much more likely than PFL, especially with the recent Amazon deal. I think people are overreading into his mum wearing a PFL shirt.

PFL definitely has deep pockets though and they're already hinting that he's a done deal, but I guess anything is possible. One Championship is the most entertaining org outside of the UFC at least of the larger orgs (don't really watch much Rizin though the last card was great).

So to sum it up Jones was ready to go for a few months now but no opponent. Stipe isn't ready obviously and Ngannou is no where near ready. UFC needs a main event for T mobile and they are not going to hold things up longer with Jones ready and Gane ready.

I don't think Ngannou is 100% a done thing with the UFC yet for sure. He's just a free agent and possible IF Jones wins Ngannou could step back into the negotiating phase with the UFC. Remember Ngannou needs a ton of time to prepare and sure as fuck doesnt look like he's anywhere ready. If Jones wins maybe a international fight week card in July could be a thing(assuming the money is right). No other MMA org can pay him the money obviously he wants. Outside of getting humiliated against Tyson UFC is the best option.

he was getting paid 600k on his last contract. He mentioned UFC offered him 2 million for the new contract, so yea, its true. you just didn't check the facts.

Jon Jones contract pays him around 6-7 million, and he has been around as a champion for a long long time.

Highly doubt this. He was for sure getting a % ontop of that as champ.

This is true. I love watching Ngannou in the UFC, but I’d have no interest in watching him box. However, I support him 100% out of principle. Somebody has to take a stand against these scumbags, especially the bald one.
