Francis Ngannou calls out Jon Jones after ‘duck’ comments

If someone can do a co-promotion somehow, I believe the Saudis can make it happen. Slim, but possible.

Ng was around for years while Jones was fighting the Anthony Smiths of the world. Ng left when he cleaned out the division. Jones never wanted that smoke just like he never wanted prime Stipe smoke.

yes, i understand that. the problem is Ngannou is calling him out NOW when it is even less likely that the fight would happen. it seems like a strange change of tune on his part. Ngannou seemed fine with never fighting Jon and seemed like he moved on with his boxing and PFL career, now he's trying to go back and fight a guy that belongs to a company he said ripped him off and never treated him right? doesn't make sense. the only way he's getting a Jon Jones fight is through dealing with UFC and Dana. there's no way around that and obviously we all know Dana's history with people he doesn't like...

I hope UFC can bring Ngannou back and pick up Nemkov too. Suddenly the HW division will be stacked.

Jones
Tom
Ngannou
Nemkov
Volkov
Gane

And Poatan potentially moving up.

Would be awesome.

The Tyson Fury who showed up to fight Ngannou was no more the HW champ than the BJ Penn who showed up to fight Yair Rodriguez was The Prodigy. Ngannou fought only a couch potato fattened on beer, Cheetos, and many tubs of ice cream.
That is a terrible excuse. Ngannou was a complete newb in boxing. There is no valid excuse he had for that performance. Being "fat" shouldn't make that big a difference between a pro boxing newb and the HW champ.

Imagine if ngannou had a few extra years training. Fury would have absolutely lost to Frank

Ngannou is in a weird position now. He may still be the best HW even though hes 38, but theres pretty much no way for him to hold onto to that claim while outside of the UFC. This isnt the 00s or early 10s with other promotions having strong HW scenes.

Honestly if he wants to keep fighting he should just have another boxing match - see if he can get Wilder or someone like Chisora. Theres virtually nothing left for him in MMA now hes outside the UFC.

He isnt really a newb to boxing though. Thats what he started off training in before he switched to MMA. Obviously his biggest strength throughout his MMA career were his hands and ungodly punching power too.

Dont get me wrong it was still pretty embarrassing for him to do as well as he did against Fury. But then the AJ fight was the total opposite. I'd be interested to see him have a few more boxing matches so we can gauge his actual level.

It does not really matter because Saudi Arabian Royalty and billionaire Turki Alalsheikh could broker the fight.

It looks like Saudi Arabia wants to put on jones vs Ngannou. That is millions of dollars. Dana has never said no to Saudi Arabia, even when they asked him to hold a mans hand.

Fuck Aspinall, if they can make that fight, they should. I like this push from Ngannou and the PFL to call out jones, and let Saudi Arabia broker the fight and pay everyone millions.

Brother PFL can’t even pay the Bellator fighters to fight in 2024, let alone next year or something like Jones vs Ngannou.

You’re delusional as fuck.

If Ngannou had more years Fury wouldn’t have take him lightly

Sure he would have. He would have still thought a guy with zero pro boxing fights wouldn't do anything to him. He would turn up the same fat slob and the same excuses would come in. He didn't even win that fight. Should have been deducted points for blatantly cheating

Miserable ass hater.

Ngannou has done what he wanted to and won in life HUGE. Joshua loss, dream big, fail big. He knocked down the 6’9 HW champ, the greatest achievement an mma fighter has had in boxing ever.

He also refused to be cucked by Dana and made over 20Ms on his own.

Fuck the Ngannou haters on this forum, biggest lames ever.

Well said. People hating on Ngannou weren’t raised right.

PFL is not paying for it, the Saudi's want to pay for the jones fight. It is the Saudis paying the fighters in Rydah when they fight there. The PFL does not have that kind of money.

In August 2023, SRJ Sports Investments acquired a minority equity stake in PFL. SRJ did it to invest in MENA(North African and Midle East), a new regional league that is scheduled to launch in 2024.

The PFL MENA is supported by SRJ Sports Investments, a sports-focused investment vehicle linked to Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia has an estimated total of US$930 billion in assets under management (AUM). Its interests is only for Saudi Arabia and that region. They also host UFC fights and want to be the new hub for boxing championships.

The goal of Saudi Arabia isn't to really make money from boxing or MMA, it's to change how people view the country and turn it into a tourist hot spot. Over the last year, Saudi Arabia has started to supplant Las Vegas and London as the leading hub of combat sports,. They cross promote and bankroll these fights for their own interests into their country. They paid Mike Tyson handsomely to train Ngannou and fly out to Saudi Arabia for the fight. They flew Jon Jones to Saudi Arabia to do a face to face against Ngannou. If PFL MENA(SRJ) is interested, they have the bank for it.

The Saudis aren’t even paying PFL to keep the Bellator fighters they acquired active.

You guys need to actually look into this shit hole of a promotion for once.
I give PFL at the most 3yrs until they enter the graveyard.

Seriously, people are letting their hate for Dana White/UFC cloud their judgment. Scott Coker was supposedly the guy to really take care of fighters, the irony is Coker will probably ruin more fighters careers than Dana.

If there's ever a time for the UFC to co-promote this matchup, it's now.
Either scenario; if Jon wins, he would likely retire and Ngannou wouldn't come back to the UFC obvioulsy
UFC has Tom Aspinall, a legit HW champion that they could promote after this fight and then Dana could jump back on the narrative of saying Jon's been ducking Tom

last time i checked gane spanked him
if it werent for the sub gane tried to
francis should have already lost

the man didnt want no part of jones
he basicaly dodge a loss
and we have evidence that this man didnt accept the 8 - 14 million offer

the only thing special about him and aspinal and other HWs
is their 1 punck ko power
