Forum preservation thread

it also isn't for the integrity and love for the sport. it's because of gambling, which brings many problems.

I get to see the best fight the best, in extremely well matched fights. That's more than enough for me, I could give less of a shit how I get it.

it does but it brings the benefit of actual sporting contests instead of exhibitions for entertainments sake. Think of all those concussions those poor over matched kick boxers/international mt fighters have suffered thru the years and you realize there are also negatives with real human costs to doing it the entertainment way as well.

The thing is we all bitch about Kickboxing all the time.

Shills like @jtwarwagon4life have delusions that stadium Muay Thai is perfect and everyone should see it as such.

like i said earlier every argument rob presented about muaythai is also true for kickboxing. low crowds, low pay, disillusionment with the scoring system are all happening is kickboxing as well

the scoring problems in kickboxing are of a different nature.

I didn't say we don't get to see them fight. I'm talking about the actual scoring and how it affects the fights and the sport in the bigger picture further explained by Rob or Samart.

Until we get to a point where the best aren't fighting the best and the stadiums standards for how well matched the fights are and the overall standard of matchmaking goes down, I will be happy to overlook any of muay thais current warts. They don't bother me that much.

it does not matter what the cause is if your still left with the same problem of people who have been in the sport their whole lives do not have a clue what the judges score cards are going to read or how they came to that decision

Thank god this topic isn't about you. I thought this thread was about how the world perceives muay thai and why kickboxing is more liked. And Rob brought up some very valid points.

Cool so keep on enjoying it.

They do bother others, however. So don't be so surprised when your enthusiasm level isn't matched.

The real problem I see in current stadium competition is that the belts have become totally meaningless.

Stop pretending to like muay thai when you actually don't.

Stop pretending to like muay thai when you actually don't. You only like to watch it on your computer screen to make yourself feel better about how you are the only real muay thai fan in the world, and to bitch about some unknown guys on twitter. You don't really care about the people involved, the history, the art, their culture, and everything around the sport that you don't get to see on youtube.

I don't even like comparing people but JayMuayThai is a much bigger muay thai fan than you are despite all his silly posts.

It certainly matters when a fight is scored based on people waiving papers in the stand with money on the line versus just straight incompetence in a judge or misjudgement of a close fight. Those aren't even compararble issues.

Why would caring about the people, history, art or culture and everything around the sport that I don't see on youtube suddenly mean that I actually liked muay thai?

exactly.

Again, the people I'm talking about don't even know this stuff. If they did, then why do they even claim to love muay thai in the first place?

because they're stupid. why don't... you know actually tweet them, instead of talking to us.

They probably even answer, if you don't go all out on your insults.

Who are we even talking about now?

First it was this forum, then it was "they", now it's some Twitter guys? Kickfighting Media, whatever we're calling it? Who does this consist of exactly?

You guys complain about people who aren't on this forum all the time. Kickboxing promotions, journalists, etc. Why don't you ever address your gripes to them in person?
