Yeah we all know Max gets more Tv views than the best stadium fights that often are not even televised. And you're telling me i'm wrong when i say marketing is important?

Why are you so obsessed with those guys on twitter? I could not care less about what a handful of guys do on twitter
Because they are representative of hardcore kickfighting fans, they'll pretty much watch any combat sports event you put in front of them. These guys don't need fancy marketing campaigns or production values to watch the kind of shit that they do. But despite all that and despite identifying as kickfighting fans they still completely ignore stadium muay thai. The only thais you'll ever hear them bring up are kickboxing thais and the occasional international thai.

i'm not even convinced that they are representative of hardcore kickfighting fans. I don't follow K-1 or their fanbase closely enough to know exactly why but i can definitely see how K-1 could be more appealing to most people. I'm sure people who watch K-1 more than i do have already tried to explain why

It's funny, I don't see any of that shit because I don't follow those guys. Why do you, and why don't you bring those issues up to them rather then vent about them here? Seems a bit cowardly IMO...

No marketing is important but i have just never seen anything from glory besides social media which most of the thai promoters do as well. I have seen every event glory has done but the only time i have ever seen one commercial for glory was when spike made a commercial about their "friday night lights out" shit that had bellator and pbc boxing featured along with glory. They didn't even do a commercial for the last man standing ppv during the prelims on spike for gods sake.

They have made the espn highlights i think twice in 39 events. The only physical ad i have ever even seen a picture of or heard about is the tokyo subway wall. So it is not like even the average combat sports fan in america( i would say the rest of the world also but i have no way to verify that so it would probably be bullshit) has ever even seen any media related to glory but yet you all keep screaming its the marketing when even hardcore fans like myself have not seen anything remotely resembling product marketing.

I know @Snubnoze707 also lives in america. so how much glory marketing or advertising have you seen?

Marketing is more than advertising.

Tell me how K1 has marketed themselves, to the guys on twitter I've been bashing, in a way that stadium promoters haven't?
The K-1 brand has a few decades worth of promoting itself abroad, people grew up with it and are aware of it. There is an established following. The Japanese fight scene is known, and people know to look for it.

Are you really trying to compare the marketing of K-1 to stadium MuayThai?

I like how y'all just gloss over Rob's comments in this thread and keep running with your conspiracy theories of Thai racism. Even he recognizes why Muay Thai in the stadiums isn't popular. Get a clue from someone that knows more than you and is litterally there in the scene.

So what? No one with the exception of a handful of hardcore sports fans in the west even know that k1 still exists. At this point in time there is no real difference between the marketing which K1 does to attract fans in the west and that which stadium promoter do.

The people we're are talking about have no clue what's happening in the stadiums and don't care.

Your a fool if you believe that, but whatever. Keep enjoying your 1 camera angle fan filmed fights thinking that's anywhere near the level of K-1 branding.

And if K-1 is so small why are you so butthurt that it gets more shine? It's barely shining, get over it.

Why do you guys care so much about what other people are into? It blows me away, get a life. Nobody is stopping yall from watching Muay Thai. If people prefer Kickboxing then good for them. It doesnt fucking matter.
