Nothing, if you like kickboxing better for what it is, despite clearly being an inferior sport, then that's ok. I just can't understand why people on here would spend so much of their time posting about muay thai and claim to love it, when they find so much fault in it and wish it was more like kickboxing. If you're a kickboxing fan, then go on being a kickboxing fan.
Stop bitching about how there isn't any English commentary in muay thai and the fighters have unpronounceable names and the fights aren't to your taste and how there generally isn't enough artifice. And these people always defend the fact that they give kickboxing way more attention by making bogus excuses about how difficult muay thai is to follow and how bad a job the promoters do, when they would clearly rather just watch kickboxing. If you don't believe me:
And last, but certainly not least, don't try to claim that what kickboxing promoters and athletes do is incredible, from a sporting perspective, when it isn't and disrespect muay thai fighters by not giving them the same treatment. Appreciate kickboxing for what it is, pure artifice, and don't try to pretend that it's something that it isn't. If you are going to give kickboxing dap, then compliment their ring girls or something.
