I don't understand why you are acting like he is some massive star outside of Japan. The fact is though, the Japanese fight scene has a history of being followed abroad. It gets more attention because it puts effort into promoting it's product and building stars.

You see that video you posted? Someone put effort into media content that people care about, not bitching on Sherdog like you two do. Unless you are doing anything like that for Sangmanee to counteract then go sit in the corner.

If you two actually put the same amount of time you do bitching about the lack of MT attention into creating attention maybe more people would be hyped for the same guys you are. Instead your doing a great job of alienating anyone that may be interested with your superiority complexes.

You're totally full of shit. You love taking jabs at the Ramon Dekker's Iron Life highlight when it suits you, but if we critique an equally stupid highlight, then we're just a bunch of whiny bitches.

Criticising this stuff is a valuable service to people who actually want to know the facts. They aren't going to get them anywhere else.

I just imagine walking into several european kickboxing/muay thai gyms and trying to talk about fighters. Maybe i'm wrong but i feel like more people would know who Sangmanee is than Tenshin. More people would know Sittichai for sure.

Pet U Thong has alot of potential to become internationally famous and if he does, you can't really say he is overhyped like Sittichai, Buakaw and Tenshin. But nobody is pushing that agenda...

Huh?

He would still be overhyped or at least marketed disingenuously because if he did fight international, people would act like his greatest accomplishment was beating "farang can X" or that he had only become a superstar recently and that none of what he had done in the stadiums really mattered. If you were to poll most people about who Yodsanklai's best win was and when he became a superstar, it would probably be beating up JWP in the contender.

I don't see why people can't just appreciate Pet Utong for koing Panpayak? Why does he have to fight international before people can appreciate him? Know about him maybe, appreciate him no.

I never even mentioned fighting cans abroad. More training footage, interviews, highlight videos with flashy titles, his own social media pages that are appealing to an international target group etc. Someone who is new to muay thai will not understand what he does by just watching his fight against Panpayak. Fighting internationally doesn't give him more cred as a fighter, just gives exposure to a bigger demographic. How the hell is Pet U Thong going to be appreciated if people don't know him to start with?

People in the MMA sphere complain all the time about how Demetrious Johnson doesn't get his just due because he's small. There doesn't seem to be much of a backlash from other MMA fans talking about what whiny hipster bitches these people are and how they should just accept that no one will ever love a midget. Just another example of how much more reasonable the MMA community is than the kickfighting community.

It's a good video for sure but not every video is going to get viral. Not sure why it has so few views. I've found views to be a hit and miss thing when i had my own youtube acccount. You need a good thumbnail, a title that make people klick on the video, good key words etc for it to get featured in search results and related videos etc. I imagine it would get alot more exposure if those youtube muay thai guys uploaded it.
