Would be a nice addition to the roster. Will he fight at MW too?
Yes sir!
The fight is scheduled to take place at 185 lbs.
At 6’5” Yousri is a huge middleweight, and his most recent fights all were at a catchweight of atleast 198 lbs +.
The last time Belgaroui made the middleweight limit is almost 2 years ago (in a title-fight against GLORY’s champion Donovan Wisse), so I’m curious how smoothly the weightcut will be

You reckon Tulio Silva will give Yousri a good fight in the standup?

Silva has fought tall fighters similarly built to Yousri in the past and knocked them out but if the fight stays on the feet I don't give Silva much of a chance.

I don't expect it to stay on the feet though. Silva is probably going to shoot pretty quickly and unless Yousri has sured up his TD defense I am thinking a GNP win for Silva.

It should be a good fight though.

Talented guy. Will be interesting to see how he will do in UFC
Yeah that’s for sure. Yousri will be a very nice addition to the roster, especially with such a strong camp behind him (Alex Pereira, Glover Teixeira, etc.)
Also, how do you feel about the recent wave of kickboxers transitioning to MMA?

Im liking the kickboxers coming over, just like I did when Maurice Smith came over, Schilt, Leko, Crocop, Hunto etc.

It forces the level of overall striking to a higher level.
To be honest with you, that's never a bad thing sir.

Looks like Silva's nickname is "Robocop" - he obviously has to fight Gregory Rodriguez, they're in the same weight class. It's like when Anderson was champion, Kendall Grove at least had the decency to spell "The Spider" in a different way.

Hopefully this Silva wins and then fights Robocop. There can be only one!

When Cowboy Oliveira fought Cowboy Cerrone was pretty funny lol.

Ohh interesting! Let’s see what happens, I’m pumped for the fight.
That means Silva is used to pressure and “bully” the bigger man. Doesn’t surprise me the slightest with those Chute Box guys though, lol.

At 6’5” that doesn’t happen often to Yousri Belgaroui though, but both times he fought against current GLORY middleweight-champion Donovan Wisse he kinda got bullied by the shorter man.
If you have time, check those fights out bro. Both are great scraps and should learn you a lot more about how Yousri Belgaroui handles being pressured. Very interesting footage leading up to his DWCS-appearence on August 29.

Keep in mind that Donovan is one of the very best kickboxers from this moment though, it definitely ain’t easy to do Belgaroui like that.
At 26-years old Wisse is 19-1 and his lone loss was a split-decision 5 years ago. Besides Yousri, he also has wins over the likes of Jason Wilnis, César Almeida, Serkan Özçağlayan, Jay Overmeer, Matěj Peňáz, and more.

First fight was when Donovan Wisse was a 22-year old upcoming guy, while Yousri Belgaroui was the #1 contender:

Second fight was about 2 years later for the vacant middleweight-championship, at the same night as Alex Pereira’s goodbye-fight in GLORY against Artem Vakhitov (rematch where Poatan lost the LHW-title by majority decision).
I was there live, what a night:

Donovan Wisse is an exceptional tal
ent and phenomenal fighter. His most recent title-defense against Serkan Özçağlayan (the hardest hitter of the division) last month was absolutely flawless too, just 50-45’d him without breaking a sweat (it’s also on Youtube if you’re interested).
(Un)fortunately the young Wisse arrived at the top right when Pereira left. A fight between the two of them would be super interesting!

If @Liverkick-king56 got the time to check those fights out I would love to read his breakdown. I always love to see your technical breakdown of fights and certain situations man, they’re super detailed and spot on all the time.

Cheers:D

Whats his record v them?
Alex Pereira and Yousri Belgaroui shared the ring three times in a heated rivalry. Yousri won the first fight by decision, Alex won the last two fights by knockout. Now they’re close training partners and great friends, which is very nice to see.
Here’s the compilation video of rivalry in GLORY, the vid shows highlights of all three fights (including the famous knockout):

(full fights are on GLORY’s YT aswell, in case you prefer to watch the full fights)

Adesanya and Belgaroui fought each other two times and Izzy won both fights by close decision, especially the second fight being razor close where a lot of people thought Yousri should’ve won.
Here’s Israel Adesanya vs Yousri Belgaroui 2:

And their first fight a few months before:

One thing I noticed in the first fight was Belagouri was very plodding and when I seen his fights with Pereira and Izzy his issue seemed to be the footwork. Belagouri reminds me of a high level Stefan Struve who used his tools with more focus on doing damage marching in with long strikes instead of keeping range and if their opponents do get close it's an instant knee that's going to punish. If I were to guess and his TDD holds up to a decent level I feel like he'll be around Jacoby's level as a striker.

But in the 2nd fight Belagouri clearly made massive improvements with his footwork and range control and despite Wisse making even more improvements (Wisse looked insane) I think Belagouri showed the kind of footwork and range control that will give most MMA strikers fits, his defence wasn't just strictly behind a high guard and he was moving out of the way of strikes very well. Belagouir's jab looks sharp, his push kick looks quick and he's constantly angling which I feel like is the most important skill for kickboxers crossing over to MMA. If the wrestling threat doesn't kill his striking I think Belagouri is going to put on some spectacular performances unlike Jacoby who's one of those guys without the feet to make people panic.
