Elections For Canadians (and sure, Americans and others can chime in): Is this a good reason to vote Liberal in the upcoming Canada election?

Why don't you go out there an help skew those odds towards the cons ?

You said you are against voting Liberal and NDP. With the Liberals ahead anything other than a vote for CPC is going to help the Liberals.

Prove that other guy wrong that you aren't a secret lib.

Perhaps I will, I'm just going over the platform and will need a day or two to study it and make an informed decision.

I only vote for those who earn my vote, I won't be manipulated or coerced.

While I appreciate the sentiment I've always been of the mind that a non vote is a vote for the winner.

Just curious, what's your thoughts on electoral reform and has the CPC mentioned anything on this issue?

I read the report yesterday

The report doesn't need to reference specifically Liberal policies when we have not only a ten year run by the Liberals but also a Senate stacked in the Liberals favor. All policies, do you really not understand this basic concept ?

You are one of those guys that parroted the talking point that inflation was not the fault of the government but was a worldwide issue, when in reality the government enacted the same polices in lockstep with these other governments. So of course they will all see the same results, that doesn't resolve the government of responsibility for enacting these policies like so many Liberals will argue.

With regard to the graphic going down the list

People cannot tell what is true or not.
Government censorship bills, increased control of mainstream media and attacks against independent media all contribute heavily to this.

People cannot afford to live on there own
This is the easiest one the blame on the Liberals, unless you think the doubling of housing costs, the blocking of reasonable development and bringing in way too many people for the supply we have.

Billionaires run the world
We are about to elect somebody who spent his entire life working for the benefit of billionaires.

World War breaks out
We are unprotected in the arctic, we are trying to make the USA an enemy, we contributed to an unwinnable war in the Ukraine that could very well have sparked a World War. Instead of of a peaceful resolution we have only supported more war.

Health Care systems collapse
They are already on the verge of collapse, last time I was in the emergency room I had a 15 hour wait while my friend nearly bled to death. I had to wait almost 3 years for knee surgery.

Basic needs go unmet
They already are, we have an epidemic of homeless who are employed but simply cannot afford both food and shelter, many Canadians will never experience home ownership. Food bank usage is up over 90% access to health care is next to non existent for many.

Democratic systems breakdown

Our democratic system has always been broken when Ontario determines the fate of the rest of the country, the liberals promised electoral reform. That was a lie. While they didn't cause this issue the ran on fixing it which, the reality is the Liberals have put staying in power above all else. Right now we are in election for which a large voter section is basing entirely on standing up to Trump. A fabricated narrative created and exaggerated entirely by the Liberals to hold onto power. The are eroding trust in the government and our democratic process like none before.

Also what buddy are you talking about ? I have no idea which accounts have the same join date as me and believe me I don't have the time or the care to have a second account, anyone who does that or thinks I am doing that is suspect to me.

Just curious, what's your thoughts on electoral reform and has the CPC mentioned anything on this issue?
I think its a very important issue, the west right now is getting more and more serious about separation the more we continue to be alienated by the Liberal government, we need to reform and give the rest of the country more of a voice otherwise we risk the country coming apart at the seams. This is the first time in the country we have not one but two of the biggest provinces talking about separation.

While I haven't heard as much on this issue as I would like from the higher ups in the party I did have a conversation with Michael Cooper about this during the last election cycle, while he did agree with most of my points he didn't offer too much on the subject.

It would absolutely be in the best interest of the CPC to run on this, the last two elections the conservatives won the popular vote, maybe we wouldn't economic situation we are in if we had an election system that better reflected the will of the people.

Yet again you fail to present any form of an argument.

Thanks for the reply.
The liberals absolutely failed in this regard were a huge let down, it'll be nearly impossible to regain the trust of many voters after that lie

I agree the liberals need to be burned at the stake for making that a core campaign promise and then reneging on it to the point they wouldn't take a single question on it from 2016 onward. But no party is ever going to make it happen and if they did we would have party splintering and end up looking like Germany where all we get is stupid coalitions and minority governments.

The change needs to happen in allowing Canadians to vote for executive and legislative representation. MPs are basically useless in parliamentary systems if they are always mandated to follow party lines.

So nothing about policy......right.

You really know f-all about politics. He is the leader of the opposition, so his role is to be a dick. Mulcair was a dick too. It is the role. If he is leader, he will be on defense. Not offense And hence much softer.

I can't believe people vote for who is nicer, not who is going to do a better job for you. It makes the liberal campaign machine's job way too easy.

Raise every single tax and create new ones to bring in the most revenue of all time while also running record defecits you say? Well, he's nice so I'll vote for his further destruction of mine and my kids futures.

Does that not sound absurd?
It’s not about not being nice, it was how fast he changed his tune when it was no longer working for him. He’s a snake. People see right through it. The dude has to take classes on how to smile properly. It’s not genuine.

Carney is making the future of the country better for you and your kids. PP is in it for himself. Dude was picking out paint for his new digs probably. He had nothing in common with the common man. At least carney said he hasn’t been grocery shopping in years. PP pretends that he goes every week. You’ve been had.

So PP is a snake but Carney isn't??

I think you've been had. The only time Carney has been remotely relatable is when he is scripted. Even during the debates he resorts to rambling nerd financial talk. He has been set-up to win by the best campaigning and worst performing political party and only permitted around favorable environments. He'd be a great finance minister. Too bad he turned the opportunity to serve his country down for an opportunity abroad.

Pierre has been to Sudbury 3 times since becoming leader. I could have waited in line and met him as he did for every person who wanted to (I didn't). So unrelatable. Was born a bastard and adopted by school teachers. His dad is gay and married to a man and his daughter is non-verbal autistic. He takes his whole family everywhere he goes. He is only a millionaire as he has rentals that Liberal inflation has ballooned in value.

Your take is literal dogshit and doesn't hold up. It is an ELECTION you fool. Not 1 politician is operating truthfully or fully representing their intentions. That's why I base very little on campaigning and my vote goes to who performs in government with my best interests at heart.

Such a great platform. He waited until after 7 million people voted. Nothing to see here!!

Well said. I couldn't agree more I have been saying this for years.

It's been the same platform with a couple of minor tweaks for months some and years for most elements. It was no secret. The costing is excellent in comparison with the Liberals.

It's sad how quickly these folks are gobbling up Carney's dick without thinking twice, or at all for that matter.

Its comments would make more sense if they were a NDP or Green Voters ....but Carney? I'm convinced they haven't read liberal platform and still have no defense as to him cutting taxes and spending / increasing military spending while having a history of leading a investment firm that skirted tax obligations and renovictions..

lol project a little harder--they can't see you in space.

Get back to me when you actually understand the differences among statements of fact, opinion, and suggesting possible courses of action in the event of possible future events. Meantime, you're just a liar to me and not worth a fuck.

Now, go cry to your mommy about the mean man on sherdog and ask her why she didn't teach you this simple shit.

lol sure it is. To reach his conclusion he included a made up factor,
"Neither the current Liberal platform nor the 2021 Conservative platform counted projected economic growth as revenue.

The Conservative platform says over the next four years, that economic growth from new policies will amount to $53.3 billion in tax revenue. "

"He is pledging to cut Canada’s deficit by 70 per cent, a promise that relies on billions in new revenues from presumed economic growth."

And where do you think all those spending cuts he's promising will come from? It wouldn't be services for low-income people, would it?

You can make up any sort of number you want for that. It's Reagan's trickle down bullshittery all over again. No wonder he waited until advance polls are closed. Can't be having anyone examining where his claims of reducing deficits while cutting taxes originate, can we?

Well if he falls short he can just use Carney's "quantitative easing". You know, print more money. That's totally accepted in Canada. Liberals love that shit.
