Elections For Canadians (and sure, Americans and others can chime in): Is this a good reason to vote Liberal in the upcoming Canada election?

Plenty of reasons. I'm not going to speak for others. I'm speaking as an undecided voter, I had high expectations for the CPC which seems to be fumbling the ball near the finish line. This will be studied in history if they lose.
@rikibobby @Lycandroid

Can you give a reasonable response to an undecided voter on why Pierre decided to wait AFTER advance polling to release his platform?

I mean that alone seems like a red flag imo.
I don't think its a fair attack when all 3 parties released their platforms late, if the difference of a couple days between the parties is enough to convince you to vote differently, I would say that is highly irrational. Ideally they should be all public when the election is announced.

My guess as to why the Conservatives waited the longest is so that the Liberals can not steal any ideas from them.

You should be more concerned about the the Liberal platform seems to come from a different universe entirely than has been talked about on the campaign. Unless you think doubling what was already a catastrophic deficit is somehow fiscally responsible.

Most people seem to be voting Liberal because they think they are standing up to Trump or because the Liberals under Carney will be a return to fiscal responsibility. Now that both of those ideas are irrefutably false what possible reasons could you have ?

Well, that's retarded and makes no sense.

Whatever you say. You remind me of when democrats and Kamala lost and all they could do was blame the voters instead of maybe looking at themselves and what they did wrong.

Calling voters stupid and shaming them and being snarky assholes isn't the best strategy to winning undecided voters over that's for sure.

Doesn't pass the smell test to me. Perhaps you're right. Or perhaps they thought they'd win easily and only needed concepts of a plan and "fuck trudeau" was enough to cross the finish line.

You're right I'm disappointed in all parties for not releasing their platform earlier. However I was never going to vote ndp and the libs have a built in excuse they're using since Carney came in much later.

You may not believe me but I was really looking forward to the CPC's potential and it seems to me they're really squandering it with the recent last minute stumbles

Lying to them seems to work better.

Bullshit. You are a liberal.

Last minute stumbles? Pierre won the debates, has exposed huge holes in Carney's plan and is closing the gap AT THE END. You are going on making shit up again.

Why do you sound so angry? You okay? Mental health doing alright?

Last minute stumbles meaning the last 2 years where everyone including my liberal friends were going to vote for CPC to the last 3 months where it's a coin flip.

Idc if you believe me or not. I've never voted Liberal in my life. And I'll say it again, people like you surely aren't helping the CPC cause that's for sure, so if you want them to win maybe keep your mouth shut bud.

I would've loved if every party was forced to release them ahead of time. But I was never going to work for ndp because of Singh, and the Libs have a built in excuse whether you or I believe them or not (Carney is newer than Pierre).

CPC had plenty of time to prepare for this. It just doesn't make sense. I'm not sure why you're trying to belittle my opinion which is a valid one if we're trying to hold our politicians and the parties accountable.

Who is trying to belittle it? If that's a sticking point of you...you could have voted for liberal or ndp yesterday or today?

If I were to take a guess, they waited so liberals couldn't try to take anymore ideas I.e cutting consumer carbon tax, ending Cap gains extention and end gst on new home builds. But, again I'm not privy to to PC's strategy and voted for my MP weeks ago

I just don't like bullshit.

"Urm, I was undecided but Pierre just rubs me the wrong way. I don't want to and never have, but I'm voting Liberal this time"- every embarrassed Liberal voter trying to justify it.

I'm not voting for those 2 but it is a sticking point on why they haven't released it since they've had all the time in the world. That's all I'm saying.

My point stands. Why did CPC decide to wait until after advance polling stations ended to release their platform? (Expected for tomorrow). What's the reasoning?
To let Carney release his first.

You quoted it as you're an "undecided" and labeling it as a red flag. What ED do you live in? Go to your canadiates office and straight up ask them.

That's nice that you think you can read every person now. I'm not voting for Carney and Singh I have my personal reasons but don't expect me to vote for Pierre simply because. Man's gotta earn my vote, that's that.

I am undecided. Undecided on if I'm voting for CPC or not. I'm already decided on not voting for Singh and Carney.

I think people are just getting frustrated we are watching our best chance of saving this country being washed away because fighting Trump somehow makes voters forget the last ten years. The other major reason Carney gained massive support was that he promised to enact a fiscally conservative policy, what I don't understand is why anyone would fall for that initially when the Liberal Party did nothing of the sort under Trudeau, now that the costed platform throws all of that out the window what exactly does Carney and the Liberals bring to the table ? They will make life more unaffordable, they will continue to block our resource development and they will continue to destroy our reputation around the world.

I am lucky in that I get to work in many different countries around the world and I have seen the respect, admiration and separation from the stupid americans reputation that we used to enjoy as Canadians in foreign countries, completely disappear. We weren't seen as joke at ten years ago.

Pierre hasn't stumbled over shit, he hasn't changed his stance on anything since becoming leader.

The costed Liberal Platform is direct contradiction of the campaign promises made by Carney. If you can't see that you deserve to be called stupid because you absolutely are.

I get it.

We can have a cordial discussion without getting hostile and name calling. I asked a simple question and it turned into "fuck you you're an undercover lib" 😂

The fuck does that mean? You've eliminated 2 out of the 3 so now you're determining if you're going to vote at all? I'm wagering you're a liberal voter just having a bit of fun on sherdog which makes more sense than someone who is deciding between PP or not voting at all (assuming you're not going to vote bloc or Green or whatever fringe party is in your riding)

That was released Saturday. Theirs is expected tomorrow. He could've released it Sunday/Monday if that was the case.
Or Tuesday.

You're forming a conspiracy over a day or two? Really?

Maybe it has something to do with Easter, I am personally behind of a few things because of it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being a lib, overall I might even consider myself one based on who I have voted for.

I do however think it is highly illiberal to blindly support your party no matter what. Going down the same path we are on will destroy the future of this country, you shouldn't have identify as a conservative to see that, you just need a functioning brain.
