Fluffy vs Strickland

Even when Strickland was champ most people didn’t see him as the best, when Fluffy smashes him this weekend it will confirm people’s belief that he was never that good, or perhaps to a few that he’s simply fallen off.

Fluffy is going to have to be able to keep Strickland down, which is very difficult.

Very interesting matchup, and if Sean is able to nullify Fluffy's wrestling enough to win decisively, I wouldn't complain if they give him Khamzat next over Imavov.

Dude no one has put Stricklands lights out at MW other than Alex and Fluffy doesn't have KO power. Sean is the WORST match up for Fluffy in the top 3. 5 round cardio, solid boxing, great striking defense, good TDD, and is very hard to keep down for any long period of time. Fluffy is not going to be able to drown Sean like he has everyone else and he doesn't have the power to stop Sean from walking him down either. Sean is going to fraud check fluffy and win on points.

Strickland's only losses at MW are against Poatan, DDP and Cannonier. And 2 of those guys he went to SDs against that many thought he won. And he's beaten Adesanya, Imavov, Allen, Hermansson, Costa, Hall. Anyone who thinks Strickland "isn't that good" at this point is retarded. If Fluffy dominates him, that would be more telling of how good Fluffy is.

At the very least I see Strickland being pushed up on the cage for 5 rounds. Don't know if he'll get taken down and I'll be pretty surprised if he gets submitted but against a cardio wrestler I don't think pitter patter shots are going to deter much.

Yeah very true, thats the problem with him. I'm not saying he has to be wreckless with no guard, but he can't keep doing the same thing over and over on loop if its not working and he is clearly losing, its so frustrating to watch

Strickland @ +275 is hard to pass up.

Fluffy is my guy, but he's not "smashing" Strickland.

If Fluffy wins, it will be a very gritty, competitive fight. Personally, I think Strickland might be Fluffy's toughest stylistic matchup in the division. Fluffy's style is based on overwhelming his opponents with volume, but Strickland is VERY good at stifling his opponents' offense--and he also has very good cardio.
