Five outdated burger chains attempting to make a comeback

I havent lived near a Fuddruckers in like 12 years but when I last went to one I liked it a lot. Not really sure what makes it outdated.
Think because they made a lot of mistakes and lost their edge and quality years ago. Used to be a good place and by the mid 2000s it was pretty meh. I stopped going around 06 or so

friendly’s still has a super small amount of restaurants here in the northeast. haven’t been there in forever but fuck, their food is good

I was on a road trip with my wife recently and stopped in a friendlys and the food is trash now.

Always liked A&W. They just have poor corporate marketing/commercialism. A&W should have never branded away from their classic look, that's A&W tradition.

Their burgers are too salty.

Steak and Shake is outdated? I only heard of it in the last couple of years and thought it was a newer and up and coming franchise. After looking it up I guess they have been around a long time.

Fuddruckers and A&W really do seem outdated but I would like to see them make a comeback. I haven't seen them around here in literal decades but I do have good memories of them when they were around.

Lol sounds about right. Outside ice cream it was never a good place. Just a slow service restaurant with low quality food
When was the last time you went there?
Actually never went to that particular one. Last time I was at any Friendly’s was probably 20 years ago. Don’t miss it.

there's a steak n shake by where I live .. burgers and shakes are pretty good

Same, in FL. I went a few months ago and it was good for the price. I had never been before or to a Shake Shack (very comparable), and my buddy told me I had to try both. I also had Krystal within the last 6 months and it was also good.

I used to love Friendly's. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is/was amazing. Haven't been in like 25 years tho

because satanic globalists like obama have conspired to make all these classic burger places go extinct so that we all lose out fuc@#%g minds man..... and babies blood and stuff.

Obama made them switch to fake meat grown in a peach tree dish that will give you a zap when you eat a real cheeseburger.

Anyone old enough to remeber when Jack in the Box almost went out of business 30ish years ago? They were having a massive sale on franchises, buy one get 3 free. I always found it so funny at the time. Recently talked to a guy who got in on that deal and now needs help counting all his money.

Reminds me of Harley Davidson almost going belly up in the early 80s. If you'd invested 10k when they were at the bottom you'd be swimming in cash now.

Same. Only longer. Seems like it’s the ice cream version of Howard Johnson’s, that hasn’t died for some reason yet

it's so easy to make a good burger at home lol

fast food fucking sucks

I'm sure it's been pointed out already, but A&W? Did America shun them, because they're thriving up here. When I was a kid, I saw maybe one A&W restaurant. They were as rare as Arby's. Now they're everywhere, and commercials for them are on heavier rotation than friggin' McDonalds.

I don’t get shake shack. It’s like 5 guys but even more expensive. I went to the one in Tokyo and was unimpressed. Spent like 20+ on a cheeseburger, fries and a milkshake. Was goodbut not worth the price.

maybe cause that is in a different country? It is cheap here, around same price as 5 guys, IIRC, though I haven't been to 5 guys in ages.
