Opinion First Thing: Trump says he is firing Fed governor Lisa Cook in escalating attack on bank’s independence

Do you not understand the difference between evidence from an investigation, a grandy jury trial, and a state supreme court ruling, versus some paperwork a guy found? You called them both the same. Which would you prefer to be on the other end of? Do you have an adult nearby that can explain it to you?
He doesn't even understand the difference between applying for a job and being fired from one, FFS.

You can be fired for cause over allegations and there is nothing in the legal language over the federal reserve that says otherwise

lol Is there any legal language that says you can't toss the job application of a felon in the garbage?

Are you comparing this lady to a felon applying for a job?
What the fuck is a taccumulator? Is that someone who is especially fond of tacos like fat ass Trump seems to be? Apropos. but that's quite the ninja edit. Forgot which troll account you were using?

Trump evaded prosecution on multiple felony indictments by simply running for office. There should be no question about his eligibility for elected office if you think the unproven accusations against this woman warrant being fired.

If she wants to try and win the Presidency to bury all this shit, she's free to do so.

The lack of introspection amongst these goofs after the 2024 election is astounding. I couldn't imagine going through life being told what to think. Wouldn't you be ashamed to be that intellectually weak?

??? Accumulators are what that Chinese troll was posting about. PIL has only ever had 1 account.

This isn't a thread about Trump's guilt or his being unfit for office - both are statements I agree with btw.

The "evidence" was presented to the person that can remove her by law.

The only question to any sane person is whether or not people that break the law should be exempt from being fired if the president has ulterior motives for doing it.

Where exactly has it been established that this lady broke the law? Because the President isn't the one who decides whether or not someone has broken the law.

What would you suggest? A criminal filing? Senate hearings? Her own admission? What exactly constitutes legal verification for you?
Since the accusation here is criminal, I’d go for anything that means someone under oath has to present evidence. And I’m fine with removing her based on charges being filed under those circumstances.

This is an unprecedented firing of a fed governor by the potus. So now we are forced now to establish what cause really means. I don’t think the potus or any other political entity should be the judge and jury. It’s like when Trump said there were mountains of evidence of election fraud, but after 60+ cases nobody ever actually alleged fraud. That was because you can’t just walk into a court with bullshit like you can on social media.

I want to point out, again, I’m not saying the evidence proves or doesn’t prove anything. I’m just saying it should be vetted by legal not political entities.

Trump is the highlander of crooks.

He doesn't like competition.
Only one will remain

She told Biden there were problems with her mortgage according to her lawyer.

She told the court she couldn't be fired because it happened before she was on the board.

Those are admissions.

And you keep ducking the question. If she did the crime should she be left on the Fed board?

With Trump's track record its fair to be skeptical, but the law doesn't say a court removes a fed board member; it says the potus does and she's practically admitted it and never denied it once.

No, they aren't. "Cause" requires evidence, not allegations. Her opinions aren't either. Trump firing her -because he think he decides cause without evidence- is the problem. Literally nobody thinks she would have a leg to stand on if she was found guilty of anything. And that's because the real issue isn't even her, but the elimination of the Fed as an independent body (which would happen if Trump is granted the power to unilaterally fire anyone he chooses without cause).

Her "opinion" was 'I did it before I was put on the board'. Lol

"Literally" the statutes says the potus can remove with cause. I'd say he has a pretty good leg to stand on.

Maybe Biden shouldn't have nominated someone that he knew had committed mortgage fraud and it wouldn't be an issue.

Moreover, removing 1 person from a 7 person board won't give Trump control of it.
