First St. Wilhelms video-steel bending

my dad is the mechanically inclined one......i hit him up for 60 penny nail and he looked at me cross eyed and gave me a '16 penny nail'.....i've wrapped it in a piece of towel and have put about a 10-15 degree bend in it.

i'm gonna get a timber tie tomorrow.

edit: just finished off the summvabitch.......1.5inches right? didn't need the vice.....where is it measured to?


A completed bend is the inside of the ends 2" away from touching each other.

Leather wraps are where it's at, you feel a lot less pain pushing into the bar with them. I use a suede on the inside to grip the bar, and a good leather wrap on the outside.

Timber ties are a great place to start, that's what I started on. The more you bend the better you'll get at it, like any other exercise.
