News First Encounter with Amazon's DGAF Policy

Amazon makes billions a day every day

They dont care

Enjoy your free stuff

Exactly

It's funny how people making barely enough to feed themselves always want to talk about what a badly run company one of the most successful companies in the history of the planet is lmao

They might even *gasp* know more about delivery and logistics than people who have zero experience in either

Man when I was in Canada I never had a single problem with Amazon. Where do you live that you're in open warfare with Amazon drivers? Australia?
USA, we had an amazon driver shot and killed last year, no one knows what the details were because they never caught the killer. My guess would be some stupid parking dispute or similar territory issue in a trash neighborhood with trash people, we do have those and they do send us.

We also had a guy threaten to shoot a dog here and flashed a gun, he was fired I believe, the next day. Like I say, when the bar gets lower and lower that's what you get.

I do the job if it's convenient, if i need the dough, i weight the pros and cons but it's strictly mercenary and the situations we may come across might be different than what a typical mailman does. I had an older white lady ask where i was from, now, maybe she was just being friendly or maybe not, we did have some criminals from mexico doing the job and among trumps first deportees in this area. So, out in the boonies, where the trump lovers are, "where are you from?" might mean anything. People are nuts out in the boonies.

Probably a butt plug and a strap-on dildo
could be, used to be you might have to go to the porno store and buy that shit, the lingerie, the oils and potions and suits, amazon has probably helped the perverts. Of course we'll never know what we're delivering, I'm positive, with my street instincts that at least some of the time, shit's something illegal. I have delivered where the customer "hand it to me" but paranoid as fuck, hiding when I know they are home because there was noise before I knocked.

Also, sometimes a package unintentionally rips open, I once accidentally busted open a package that had some sort of gun shit in it, thought that was interesting.

Never once intentionally did anything like take, open or steal anything. In fact, the one time I was most tempted to NOT take a package to the station was when the app skipped a package and I didn't know it was in the car still, of course I didn't give a shit about the package, it's just a pain in the ass to have to drive to these stations, I almost threw the shit in the garbage because sometimes the shenanigans and expectations are just unreasonable and inconvenient.

I had heard about this, but just experienced it first hand. Amazon just dropped off a medium sized package at my door. But it's addressed to someone in a nearby building. At the moment, it would be inconvenient for me to venture forth to assist a neighbor, so I contacted Amazon.

It took about 3 minutes to penetrate their attempt to anticipate my problem, but I eventually reached a human (I think) chat-person. She (I believe) commended me for my honesty<WhatIsThis>, but made no effort to try to find out what the package was or who it was meant for. So, naturally I asked if they would recall the delivery person. And then she hit me with it...

Amazon doesn't give a you know what about the wrong delivery! They said no need to return it and I won't be charged!

I don't know what to do. I don't feel like seeking out the customer, especially if they are going to automatically replace his item.

I'm also slightly concerned about opening the package in case it's something that would make me fell uncomfortable<NotListening>.

Any thoughts?
I once yelled at them for an hour over the phone for delivering me something I didn't ask for. They changed their policy.

yup, they're in such a rush to just make money, they know those things will happen, they have safety nets but not enough but they do cater to the customer more often than not. My brother had a mixup where he had a package delivered but didn't get it from the front desk, he got two of them when he complained, i just told him, "because you got to have your package and can't have a little patience, that driver got dinged when it wasn't his fault".

it sure is nice being able to have a delivery to those lockers, that shit is so convenient.

Just be a good neighbor and bring it over.
Also, I can't think of a time when talking to Amazon customer service is preferable to walking to a neighbor's place

if you are lonely and horny

Update

I brought the package over to the dude. He apparently didn’t know it had been misdelivered.

The mystery remains. 3.2 lbs enveloped in Amazon brown paper wrapping, with no indication as to what it was.

Should have opened it before bringing it over just so you wouldn’t wonder for the rest of your life what it was.

Could have just said you were also expecting a package and didn’t realize it wasn’t yours until you opened it.

Open the box and wear or use the item while walking back and forth in front of your neighbors place.

If they ask if you got a package addressed to them, say "not that I recall"

amazon? I am familiar with the company, they are mercenary, very mercenary. They realize they hire goofballs and they don't care so the mistakes a mail man might make every so often, they'll make a lot more. Also, no professionalism, you get amazon drivers threatening to shoot dogs and it works both ways, we get amazon drivers who get shot too and amazon doesn't give a shit about the drivers family afterwards and you think what you're talking about is bad?

my worry is this is the future for all of us, this sort of approach to life/business/how we treat each other.
They're insanely overworked too. Even being in the industry the last decade I've avoided them. The word of mouth is that bad. And that's in an industry already known to treat workers like shit.

If they can't be bothered to get the delivery guy to get it and deliver it to the proper ordering person, that's messed up especially if what was ordered was some rare limited production run item.

Maybe their lawyers advise to not touch it since some whack job could have tampered with it and resealed it then something happens and someone sues Amazon.

I have mixed feelings about Amazon, but compared to most other businesses I've interacted with, they are one of the smartest. I bet they flag any item that would be problematic to replace and treat it differently.

I think they are just raking in dough so fast that "just-send-another" is cheaper and more efficient for them as long as its a "cookie-cutter" item.

I think its just logistics. Theres so many packages, many of them wrongly delivered, they'd probably just prefer sending a replacement item to the original recipient over taking the time to get all the packages back and resend them.

FFS if its near by drop off at the address listed . Likely would of taken much less effort an time than contacting Amazon. And damn you could of actually do e a decent thing .........

Commend you for your honesty how about scoff at your laziness

Amazon doesn't care as its more efficient for them to just wait for a complaint from customer then re issue then to spend time solving it.

well, the only people who may not badmouth them that I've met are immigrants who say the work load is fine, in other words, maybe folks who either work super hard or have no idea of good working conditions.

the one thing amazon does do is give older americans a shot, I've seen people so old and incapable that I can't even imagine a mcdonald's hiring them and there they are limping around in their imperfect way, with the demands of the place I imagine most of them just get ousted fast but at least they got a shot.

I'm having a hard time believing that no one knows what a headache calling any business on the phone is and talking to a real person today, you already know it's gonna take at least 10 minutes unless you're a little kid.
